Well I must say Mark was on fire last night! What a great set, way to go Mark.

I had some friends in from Michigan for the weekend and they were amazed by club, sound system, energy and the up for it crowd.

Anyone who still doesn't realize that this is far and away Toronto's best club night, what more do you want???

Make the club about 10 times smaller, replace Mark Oliver with Mark Scaife, and rename it System Soundbar.

Get rid of the muscle-bound roid ragers, get rid of the barbi girls, play some half decent music and abandon any notions of it being a decent club and I might become a believer.

    At least there ARE girls.

Getting into an argument about the music Mark plays with someone who does not even know what he plays, is pointless.

Ill give you the muscle bound juice tigers.

another thing i just thought of.
at least guv provides me with loads of people to make fun of and imitate. countless hours of enjoyment. you've got the "picnic blanket sit in middle of dance floor people", the tarts and their crap dancing "oh look at me while i prance", the people who can't walk....ahhh so much more. *smirk*
    i love it hahaha

Guv is a good club, but not my cup of tea.
I personally prefer a club with a more intimate setting, which is why I like System.
I am however tired of the same old boring "progressive" that can be heard there on most fridays, and the lack of women.
I'm starting to enjoy their saturdays more. Better vibe and a lot more women.

    You're obviously missing out!

I make fun of the people at System Soundbar almost on a daily basis. [IMG]

Man if you want to get into a discussion about musical styles, DJ's and scenes I will be more than willing. I have a very good idea about the kind of music Mark Oliver playes. I have known Mark Oliver both personally and professionally for the last six years and am fairly confident I would be able to accurately document his musical progression over those years. So it is my opinion that Euro Trance is not very good music, that's all. The fact that I don't like it doesn't mean that I don't know it, so please don't assume. I have been involved with this music for a long time, I know what is going on... and seriously doubt you would be able to explain anything to me of any relevance.

JEMZ I dont think you realize how much of a wanker you look like right now lol

if you are important in the music scene, Iam scared because anyone who raises such ungrounded statements deserves no recognition anywhere be it from a record store to a message board

but keep thinking, you have connections...You should read Freud's theory on defence mechanisms, you seem to practise Projectionism alot

    back to mikeberts original idea

I agree Mark has always been on the cutting edge, and has been progressive in his musical tastes long before others in this city

He has always had the gift of incredible foresight and already had a long history of progressive music under his belt when most other dj's including scaife were pumping out gamemaster

Anyone who denies this is either just blind or jelous, how can you say he is not progressive. This man started the first RAVE company in Toronto, when no one else had the balls to

and on terms of guvernment, most people know just how great it is. Comment say what you want, if you like girls who dress like men go to systems

Guvernment needs to defending, it attracts 3500 people each week without any of you setting foot in it

so why try to convine anyone to go. Its perfect the way it is

Guvernment is a true world class club, not rave. Most of you, have no experience in clubbing and have just started recently. While, we share some fundamental principles,we are NOT raves, we are quite different and this is obvious by how uncomfortable most of you are when you actually step into true clubs

But as previously mentioned, there exists venues for you people, and venues for others and as long as we can both go, out and have fun respectively who am I, or you, for that matter to judge ?

after all we all go for one thing : music

Pffffft! Apparently you lost touch with Mark Oliver sometime around 1999.

If you think he spins "Euro trance", you've obviously never heard a single set from the man in two years. Seriously, if I said that Mark SCAIFE was too cheesy based on what he used to spin two years ago (ie. Gamemaster), would all of you System-heads not have a valid excuse for calling me an idiot? Absolutely.

Listen, we're giving you an opportunity to take back your comments and save a little dignity. Otherwise, would you be confident enough to have someone forward your message to Mark Oliver and see if he agrees?

For the record, I would like to once again point out my theory that TraNceAhoLic and Adrian are the same person. But in a 'Two-face' type of way. The good side(Adrian) and the 'unstable' side(TraNceAhoLic).

The different ways that the two of you go about arguing(TraNceAhoLic)/discussing(Adrian) the same points astounds me.

Two DJ's that the Guv should have brought in while they had the chance, Deep Dish, and Lee Burrige. Mmmmmmmmmmmm Phazon!

I went to the Guv recently to see Ferry Corsten. While the venue itself is interesting, nice sound system (not loud enough though) and decent light show, the crowd it draws isn't for everyone. Thats my opinion though, not one that everyone else has to take up or agree with. The point, for people like TranceAHolic and mikebert is that this is a public FORUM. People can post their own opinions and feelings here, and people can agree or disagree, thats true. But there's no need to try and slam someone into the ground if their opinion is different from yours... Or does showing people up on the internet really make you feel that good about yourself?

    Enjoy the music.

Good point BUT I think the sound system is loud [IMG] enough OR do you want blood pouring out of your ears.
