I thought it was awesome. It brought everyone together again and made everything full circle, right down to Jack closing his eyes. Just as we've invested in and enjoyed the experiences these characters have created, they finally found their peace together.
Some of the reunion moments were definitely tear-jerk worthy, and after all the questions raised over the last six years (and yes, there are still more), I felt the finale was utter payoff.
In the end, seeing everyone together again and being happy, hit pay dirt big time.
that was exactly my interpretation as wellMy gf's first interpretation last night is that they all died in that original plane crash or in the case of other characters not on the plane at some other point. However, as they were "lost" souls who didn't feel like their life had purpose they created this interim reality centred around the island where they defined a purpose for their lives before moving on.
Awwwwwe that's an awesome theory and would *so* be in Hurley's character to do that.I just read an interesting theory that says it was Hurley who created the flash-sideways universe after he became caretaker of the island. That it was Ben who suggested to him that perhaps he could do a better job, without restrictions, than what Jacob did. A final gesture to bring his friends together again.
