Looking for a word pro. or desktop pub app

I can't stand using Corel Word Perfect '97 version any longer.

Does anyone out there have a good desktop pub / word pro. proggie?

and it is good.

Sun gives out solaris for free too.
don't fret about the freeness.

I think they make money off commercial licensing, not personal versions.
