I was just reading some offer for life insurance that I got in the mail today, and I was just blown away at the absurdity of the way they sell it...

Here are some quotes that I just needed to share:

"The living benefit lets you get an advance up to 25% of your own life insurance coverage if you're diagnosed as having a terminal illness."

    I mean, that's nuts...
what are you supposed to think when you read that? "Well gee, that sounds really good. I hope I get a terminal ilness so I can get some of my life insurance before I die."

    and then there's this one:

"If an accident results in Severe Trauma, you may be eligable to collect an extra Severe Trauma Benefit of 25% of your coverage."

    I mean... come on!

    Extra Severe Trauma Benefit?

That sounds like a bonus game of Bingo...
Like something to be exited about...

What I really want to know is... who comes up with this stuff?

I tried getting a life insurance policy once....

They asked a lot of specific questions....

Have you taken drugs before? what kind? how often? how much? why did you do it? would you do it again?

needless to say they denied me.......

    Why did you answer correctly?

I mean... if the cops can't proove it, neither can the life insurance agency...

well... then again... if they investigate after you die, and the find some proof that you did... it would probably invalidate your insurance...

    Well ...

You think THAT is morbid? What about VIATICALS, where you buy the life insurance policy of a terminally ill person (usually AIDS) for a discount, and then wait to collect once they die?!
