Let's talk music (house).........

I truly enjoy this room, as there is practically no useless banter in here. Everyone is insightful and has something of value to say. Lately though, this room has been more of a promotions/what's for sale thing. I propose for any of you to speak you mind on what you are thinking with respect to music and/or partying. It doesn't matter what it is. I'll start.

After misssing out on Satoshi Tomeii a couple, I am very hyped for Deep Dish this week. I need to get out and let loose. I love a good DD party. I have never been disappointed by them. I have seen them 4 or 5 times so far. Nothing would make me happier than a Yoshiesque 2 sound of some Eastcost, Westcoast shiat. Some deep, dirty, bassy, tribal and sexy house is what I am looking forward to.

Other things on my mind right this second. I'd like to see DT, Tom Stephan, Lawler,& Carl Cox soon. I know I will have the chance to see some of them in March, which is nice. I'd also like not to worry that I have to work the following day, so that I can go hard.

I'd also like for some more cuties/ladies to come out to the clubs. Lately there are so many guys out there, it's disappointing. Granted this city is known for that. Ladies, not all of us will hit on you when you come out. Some of us are just happy dancing, smiling and having fun. Not everyone has an alterior motive, honestly!

Well I am waiting for the winter to end then maybe some real house dj's might start appearing in this city. Lately all I have been seeing is progressive dj's like lawler, deep dish etc... I want to here some real houe guys again at a different club then system sound bar.

I am hoping that people will start bringing in some new upcoming west coast dj's such as Chris Lum ans Dj Buck.

February dj Diz is coming back to element which could be nice to hear some good solid deep house.

I guess january is just a dead time of the year (of course!)

I hear that. The big dj parties can get a bit crazy, but there are always fun after people start filing out of the club around 3am. (ie. those who don't know) But I do like the prog dj's. Their music is rooted in house. And waiting for them to drop some house tracks and classics is what keeps me coming back for more.

On the 'less popular/mainstream' front, I want to see Miguel Migs and Tom Stephan as I already mentioned.

Element is a cool venue a more intimate gathering , but I am also a bit tired of all the clubs in the city. They are always way too rammed. Too many dudes, not enough honeys. What can you do though? Una Mas is pretty chill, I like it as a venue for an intimate party. I heard Kenny Glasgow has played there. Do you know of anyone else who has?

here in london it seems that every decent club closes down.

and it doesn't help that my friends here aren't into dancing. i've give my left nut to have clubs like NV, System, Element et al. at my disposal regularly.

anyway, 'nuff whining. i'm definitely digging the deep house lately: trevor walker (ottawa), H-Foundation, old Andrew Weatherall (circa '96, Essential Mix), Josh Wink...

I find that a lot of "tech-house" records don't really float my boat, but people that blend "techno" and "house" into a sort of sublime different sound are right on point.

Miguel Migs - when and where?!!!

Chris Lum would be another person I'd love to see.

David Alvarado another dj I want to see back in town.

Deep Dish will be sweet, but even sweeter in Kitchener...

yeah dj buck would be VERY good, but what i would like to see, and what i'll repeat until i'm blue in the face, is why can't someone bring in the INLAND KNIGHTS into town? that would truly be the absolute finest in deep, funky, techy vibes....other than that, a return by the RURALS would def be appreciated by my ears....

peace
