less bytes

im trying to upload photos for my friends but it wont let me as
"The uploaded file exceeds the maximum allowed of 512000 bytes"
the photos i have are all around 1,473,814 bytes how do i make em smaller?

use a program to scale them down. on windows, i like picasa which is very similar to iphoto on a mac. download picasa from google.. it's free.
