Laundry and U

So... was just talking to a co worker about laundry... and how now she has ensuite laundry which is cool, but she misses having a huge laundry room with multiple machines so she could get it all done in 2 hours, instead of a bit here and there.

I myself would much prefer to have ensuite laundry... cause you know.. .you can just set it, and forget it!

But I live in a six plex and there is an industrial washer and dryer in the basement... costs 1.50 to wash and 1.25 to dry.. .and it's all quarters.

Last place.. was 2bucks to wash and 2bucks to dry... only took loonies... which was a pain in the butt to collect.

oh.. and the dryer SUCKED ASS... so sometimes needed to dry twice.. so to do a load cost 6bucks in loonies...

So ... What do you do? Laundromat? Or in your building? or Ensuite?

Do you do it all in one shot.. or just a bit here and there like I do?

Do you separate? Apparently I need to start separating cause my white shirts are blue now. *Sigh*

I dont mind doing laundry,... it's kinda fun to fold the clothes while watching TV.

I love the fact that I can do laundry at home, but I miss the ability to wash all my loads at once and have all my laundry done in just over an hour and a half.

Nawadays its a whole days affair to do laundry, which sucks

fun?

there's nothing fun about laundry imo. i hate having to scrounge up loonies and quarters to do laundry. they should invent laundry with a debit/vendacard system.

I have a laundry spot right around the corner. I HATE going to do laundry there, and I'm not sure why.

I wait till I'm about to recycle underwear, then drag ma ass ova there ad do 5 loads at once.

I miss havng my own machines...esp in the winter when you can warm your clothes before you put then on.

I taking the suppa lazy way out and having all my shizz washed and dry cleaned at the same spot, comes back wrapped, pressed and folded...

what have I become

I LOVE MY WASHER/DRYER IN MY BASEMENT.

love it from the depths of my soul.

but I used to hit the laundromat when I lived in my apt. hated it. always some creepers hanging out at the laundromat.

I enjoy doing laundry... maybe because I have an ensuite washer and dryer. I am so anal about laundry and worried about wrecking clothing that it takes a while though (hand washing, air drying).

I am NEVER completely done my laundry. There's always something that needs to be washed and I hate it.

There's two washers and two dryers in my basement. $1.50 each. I just toss my clothes in and go back to my apartment while they do their thing. On the down side there's no elevator in my building so that means I lug it up and four floors on the stairs.

I have laundry in my building. It's 1.25$ each time. Did it just yesterday, but one of the dryers is broken. So I had to leave my clothes in the washer, while the other load was drying. Pain in the ass.

Our elevator is broken too.

It's so speedy around here.

I do my laundry once a week, two loads. My bedsheets are always washed every week......mmm clean sheets are the bestest!

I've had an appartment with a good laundrymat nearby... and now I've got a washer/dryer in my kitchen.

I have to say I like the ensuite version better, although doing 10 loads at once is nice sometimes.

No need to wait around (although the laundromat I used to go to was attended and you could leave while your clothes were in)

I usually throw a load in the washer before bed or work and then throw them in the dryer when I get up, or when I get home from work. If your hydro and gas is included in the rent you can wash 1 pair of underwear at a time if you like too. You don't need a specific Laundry day, you can just wash stuff when you've got 10 extra minutes and you feel sassy.

I have ensuite...I might not have the access to doing multiple loads but the fact that I can throw it in overnight, and not have my stuff covered in dog hair (happened to me at a 'mat), and not have someone pull my damp stuff out of the dryer, etc. etc. etc... more than makes up for it.

It's apartment-sized so it's smaller than your standard house machine but I live alone so it's no biggie. I throw in a load here and there during the week so I don't have a big laundry day unless I'm doing sheets/towels.

Wow that's fascinating.

I hate laundry. I do it all in one shot (usually fridays right after work becuase no one else in my building does it at this time) We have 4 washer and 5 dryers. 1 dollar a wash, 1 dollar a dry (usually takes two cycles)

The worst part about laundry is the folding / putting away.

Tip for getting quarters.

Go to vending machine.. like coke machine.. put in loonie or toonie and press the change button.. .it normally spits out quarters.

which is why I like my new washer and dryer... all quarters

I share laundry with the 3 other people that live in my house - I have a second door in my bedroom and the laundry room is right there - I like folding laundry too, it relaxes me:) one of my biggest pet peeves is when people take my stuff out of the washer or put it in the dryer...

Yeah, if you're SATAN!

We have a good laundry room in my building, no coins - we have this card thingie and you just load it up with a debit or credit card. And there are a few of those good energy efficient front loaders in there. woo woo

Yeah, like Satan needs a dryer.

Sometimes I run a full cycle on the dishwasher including heat dry just to get a clean knife to pry my toast out of the toaster (which I leave running continuously just so I don't have to wait for my toast.)

walk down the street to the laundry mat.

its rather meh.

last week I had a collection of towells, along with my bed sheets, comforter, house coat, hoodies, and basically everything I own. I couldn't do it all at once. I took two regular machines and two of the big ones, and about 2 and 1/2 hours to do my laundry. I still have a fat ass load left that I'm going to do right now.

the machines in my building cost $1.50 each. therefore, i refuse to use the dryer, cos just think what that extra $1.50 can buy me!

and i don't separate cos, once again, that would be more money. it's not like i own anything white anyways.

but...the place i may be moving into has free laundry. i would be in heaven!
