Personally, I prefer gin on mondays. If I still need to drink come monday, it usually has more to do with withdrawal-relief than actual socializing. Gin is great since it is low on aroma and easy to swallow unmixed. It also doesnt cause me any bloating like beer does, or lip staining like wine (my usualy choice for anti-bloating alcohol). I also generally find that a couple of drinks of gin on rocks doesn't lend itself to having more than a few, something to aim for if alcoholism runs in your families.
Otherwise, if you're not still hungover and are just legitimately going for drinks, then beer is good, as there are usually tonnes of good chicken wing deals on mondays.
