Lacie 1tb external drive

Has anyone installed these huge external drives?

My issue is when I try to access the drive, it prompts me that it wants to format it.

I know there is data on it, the properties show no file format on my XP pro.

What OS was the data put on under? The new HUGE drives (anything over 200GB I think) do require special formatting and XP has to be enabled to see them properly (I think). I just trusted in the Seagate installer and it did the magic when I installed a 300GB drive recently.

That's just it, I was told it was XP NTFS that it was formatted under...

I think the drive is fubar....

googled it, apparantly these huge drives by Lacie are problematic.
