Kenny Glasgow Extended Set @Turbo

Well, I did not actually see any of his set, but Jordan was up there and said it was really really good and the vibe was wikkid.

I had my behind in the jungle room all nite, esp cos Marcus dropped his "shine eye gal" mix again, which I haven't heard in so long, and earlier on the "Let me Know" slip n slide remix was dropped. Oh lord!

The Ibiza dancers scared me, esp. the shirtless dude with the tight undies and when I saw him from the side his penis would flail. It was not Turbo, Guvernment maybe? Glad to see it be back to normal next week.

Amazing Turbo nite as usual, as every Friday, seeing the same faces, and Jay who lives there with me.

Oooh good ol' turbo.. despite all the criticism, despite all the (ridiculous)rumors about security.. it continues to deliver the best friday nights in t-dot!

I reached the party alone, hoping to hook up with jess and brandon (which i did). It was about 23:20. Downstairs was pretty weak but i had to stay there because i promised to say hi to mc lucid.. who very cunningly disappeared somewhere when i was at the washroom. aaaargh

Angry, i proceeded upstairs to check Kenny Glasgow .. but what i found was a bunch of 30 yrs old ibiza dancers who were desperatly showing off some skin so that people wont notice that they actually had no clue how to dance to that music.

So i was like lalala... ta ta... running up and down between the floors and then BOOOOOM!!!!! MARCUS!!!!!!!

OH MY GOD!
It was AMAZING!
One can very rarely witness such a vibrating track selection and those superior mixing skills that can easily turn your surrounding into an illusion of pure sound and light.


When Marcus was done torturing (in a good sense) the crowd i went up to catch some nice vocal tracks being dropped by Kenny. After Marcus' set though, you wont hear me giving kenny's mixing too many compliments.

Overall, it was a safe night and turbo is still my #1 friday nite choice!!

Big ups to toronto jungle for bringing some new local talent inside.

the word of the night was WEEEEIIIIIRRRRRD!

i just couldn't get past the whole ibiza-theme to have a good time. i was looking forward to the familiar environment that turbo offers. i like the familiarity...it's comfortable...it makes me feel at home...but NOT on this night. between the greenery hanging from the ceiling, the scantily-clad go-go dancers, the benson & hedges cigarette girls, and especially that bright airplane tunnel leading into the jungle room.....i couldn't take it! i never really got into the music and ended up leaving early.

oh well...hopefully it'll be back to normal next week.

sorry i left without saying good-bye, alex...i HAD to get out of there...know what i'm sayin'? it was just too much!!!!!!

Tim Patrick was great as usual. His set made for a very happy birthday girl (Happy Birfday again Svet!

). The go-go dancers were a scary sight. I'm sorry, but there's no need for guys to wear leather chaps and girls to have that Princess Leia bikini-scene thing going on at Turbo. And please ... move the risers to the side next time. I'd rather not look at the go-go dancers when I'm facing the DJ. Thank you

Good times had by all, regardless of the above. Jo, Svet, you're my girls, thanks again! Good seeing some of the TBK in effect as per usual. And Magda, do I even have to ask where you're (or I'm?) going to be next Friday? lol.
