get rid of kazaa...the spyware packaged with it effed up my computer. some people prefer direct connect...but i don't like it. there are too many limitations. i liked kazaa 'cause it was so easy to find what i was looking for...but the spyware messed up my computer. get kazaa lite. it's a hacked version of kazaa that doesn't include the spyware. get it here:

http://www.kazaalite.com/lite/

I've tried dc++ and winmx (with napmx), while both are extremely cool technology wise, I think they both suck, you can't actually download anything without contacting the file owner directly. For those of us who want our napster style p2p, kazaa is definitely the way to go (or the tribe ftp...damn I can't get, check my folder tonight for some new shit)

I don't know what you're on about. DC++ has the option of automatically searching for alternate download locations just like Morpheus and Kazaa. Nor do I get what you're saying about having to contact the file owner directly. You can search for things and download results just the same as anything else.
