I seriously wonder what the jaded late 80's-early 90's clubgoers thought of the funfur and soothers that completely were the opposite of hipster and douchebaggy back then.

Oh, yes.. we (mid-late 80's, early 90's) made fun. There was also the boas..:) But then, we were so much cooler (tongue in cheek), what with our shaved heads, mod coats, army boots and floor length scottish kilts. lol

Ok. The fun-fur pants weren't really that made fun of.....they were a great thing to have while on drugs (not that I would know about that).

The scarves are ridiculous i.m.o., but I can handle a lot of other hipster things like the tight pants and the vans and the glasses. Everyone has their own lines in the sand. Scarf = over the line.

Meh.. I'm more of a #3 on Otis' scale. Yeah, I look at some of the outfits and giggle a bit, but at least they're having fun. We wore some pretty freaky clothing in my day, so the hipster style certainly doesn't bother me when I go out. It only does if the person is sporting an attitude as if they are too cool for the rest. It's defintely there, but it's been there for every generation.

Was planning on going to this but because it fell on a work day decided against it. I really would like to see the venue but it sounds like the event was not up to snuff. Too bad, as the last time I saw 'Justice' I really enjoyed them.

ps. ranting about "hipster douchebags" is so hurting....those kids are like 20. maybe you're just old?

maybe 10 years ago, at Liquid Adrenaline raves when we were 16 we also looked retarded but at 20 years people should be capable of realizing when they look like retards in public. the scary part is that a lot of these people are in their mid to late 20's, not actually 20. it just seems like they're trying to fit in with the new wave.

now, in our late 20's and early 30's we call them hipsters. back in high school we called them losers.

Who the fuck cares what people are wearing??? You are there to hear good music and party. Get over yourself and your great fashion sense and just lighten up and then maybe you'll actually enjoy yourself.

-hipster douchebags: um, you were there to see justice, and it's 2007. either accept that you are probably a douchebag too, or you're just too old and boring.

im sorry but that ideology is wack. same as the reply above. i had the time of my life at the ed banger show at the mod club in march. i love the music, but it doesn't mean that i'm going to put so much effort into dressing up a certain way where i'll just end up looking like everyone else anyway. you know, the whole idea of fashion is to look different and unique. maybe the first guy who dressed like that was cool but the rest are sheep.

yes, us old ravers probably dressed like shit at Liquid Adrenaline raves back in 1996, but at least we were 17. i wouldn't be caught dead wearing something retarded like that in public after i turned 19.

although i do wear a pink mesh hat occassionaly - but mostly for shits & giggles
