goddam toronto sucks...so glad i saw JUSTICE in montreal.;
you fucking whiners.
who gives a fuck how people dress? (i dont dress in anything but cheap shoes, normal jeans and a plain blue t shirt with no accessories....and i didnt think for a second how other people were dressing....ITS A FUCKING PARTY MORONS!!!!)

JUSTICE IN MONTREAL WAS AWESOME....everyone was having a wild time.
great venue, awesome sound, and great tunes.
i went expecting a good show and got a great show.

this review thread has proved that Toronto has degenerated into a grizzled old jaded ex-raver strong hold. if you cant go to a party and have a good time because you cant help but negatively critique everything around you, then stay the fuck home....i would much rather have HIPSTER DOUCHEBAGS (or whatever they are called) at a party having fun, then all you jaded cunts standing around huffing and puffing about every little thing.

THE NUMBER ONE BRING DOWN AT ANY PARTY ARE THE PEOPLE WHO BRING IT DOWN!!!!!!

p.s.

did i happen to mention how much fun I had at the JUSTICE show in montreal?
it was kick ass!!!!

Nah, just the people on this board. Toronto has the best party scene it's had in years right now, by far. I'm sure the other 99% of the people at the Toronto party (outside of this review thread) had just as much fun as the peeps in Montreal.

haah I think it's time for Tribers to retire from partying

when all they can come back with after a party is too make fun of younger people dressed differently, who are actaully having fun.

really your chinstroking, jadedness is doing nothing for the party atmosphere.

Man, there's a lot of people defending the crowd who weren't even at this party.
You guys missed the ticket sale cause you were in line for the latest issue of Vice or something?

My initial comments were made tongue in cheek.
I think the fashion is ridiculous, but the same *was* true of candy kids back in the day as well. It's just that the ridiculous fashion seemed to be far more pronounced than at any concert/show I've been to recently. I suppose the headliners draw that crowd. I went to UNKLE the following evening and there were a lot more "normal" people there. Less sequins and loud colors. No shiny gold scarves tied around skinny boys foreheads (I'm not making this up folks).

I didn't say anywhere I didn't have fun at this party. It was a good time, and I really liked the venue. Let's just put my moaning about the crowd (in a strictly poking fun manner that many of you didn't understand) on par with the bitching that goes on here about all ages parties.

And I'm still well under 30, so I don't think I'm THAT jaded yet folks.

perhaps, but i think my heart belongs to a-trak, mehdi, the silver fox, and kid sister. i think it's just more my style of tunes.

So is this "hipster" wave the next cultural movement or a temporary fad?

The same people who tried to tell you a year and a half ago that Electro House was just a fad, will certainly tell you the same in this case.

i think circa blows. design-wise, it looks like it was put together by 10 year olds imagining what a "proper club" should look like. one 10 year old was in tokyo, one in new york, one in l.a., one in miami, and one in london. the aesthetic seems shoddily put together and poorly executed, with a bunch of dead space and warren-like corridors that lead you to yet another slap-dash room. it looks like they ran out of money, with some of the finishing coming out kind of cheap.

honestly, you know that episode of the simpson where moe changes his bar to "m"? that's what it looks like. "it's po-mo, you know, different for the sake of being different"

the actual main floor is crappily designed for dancing-conduciveness. it reminded me of taste of the danforth. a lot of people in a space that's bisected with the sound engineer console, a stack of speakers, a bar along one side, and an escalator to yet another meandering floor.

I agree, and I found a lot of "art installations" to be tacky shit. lol

Is it 'fight' or 'five'?

my brain wants it to be 'five', but it's 'fight'.

do the D.A.N.C.E.
1234 fight
skip to the B.E.A.T.
get ready to ignite

you were such a P.Y.T.
catching all the lights
just easy as A.B.C.
that's how you make it right.

Agreed! To me, the people that complain are the ones who are expecting what had become 'traditional' in electronic dance music. There's still room for it, but it's lost steam in the face of things that are newer and more xciting. The people having the most fun at 'underground' events aren't listening to Sasha anymore. :D
