I like that place but to expensive for stuff that's mostly veggies. Call me Al Bundy's dad, but I usually just go in to get half-priced day old wraps.

Actually Pete, I had it before the legendary curried carrot soup at your place.

Maybe it was the fact that such a soup even EXISTED that sullied the taste of the carrot coriander soup.

I love the Warrior Bowl and the sweet potato fries and the liquid lunchbox juice. I prefer to make my veggies meals at home though.

stuff like this scares me.

how much colour and other crap are they putting in there to make it look and taste like prawns.

have you ever read a package of fake meat products? it's long and unpronouncable.

i feel the same way about this stuff that i do about "light" products.

the last thing i want when i go for vegetarain/organic is something deep fried..but it seems that fries are really popular there. every time i go everyone at all the tables around me is getting them.

well..it's obviously better to eat organic food w/ no added chemicals or preservatives, but when comparing equivalent serving sizes, meat alternative products are lower in calories, lower in saturated fats, and contain more protein and fiber than their meat counterparts...so it could be worse.

I would love to just eat whole foods 100% of the time, but I don't have the self-control.

so I am back and happily full - I got the simple rice and a lust for life drink - I also got a banana bread for my mid afternoon snack

i just don't understand the need to eat fake meat.

vegetarians have made a lifestyle choice not to eat meat - why pretend to eat it then?

Veggies are expensive though, especially if organic. My groceries never run less than $60, and all I'm buying are veggies.

Le Commensal is AMAZING. Three 25 foot buffet tables of vegetarian & vegan cuisine. Deserts like you wouldn't believe. You can get a coupon here:

I LOVE JFL. (yes, I know it's called Fresh but I prefer JFL better)

But there are a few things I love so much there that I have trouble ordering other things on the menu.

My old stand by favorite is the Zen Sushi. Perfect when it's warm out but it's not these days so my #1 choice is...

The Thai Noodles...I stumbled on this one recently and recommended it to a friend that also liked it. It's really filling so be ready to eat.

I had one of the wraps.. I think it was black bean or something and I found it too dry.

The fries (sweet or regular) with Miso is good call.. that was previously mentioned.

I am not a vegetarian by any stretch, but I am guessing it's just a food variety thinng. and fake meats are often healthier. I agree, the idea of it does seem strange..maybe it's helpful for ppl that are making the lifestyle change with transition. regardless, I aplaud anyone who is trying to make healthier eating choices, fake meats or otherwise.

My favourite thing at juice is the 'ninja'. It's greens on rice with deep-fried tofu, sun dried tomatoes and a wasabi sauce. It sounds like a bit of a weird combination, but it actually goes together soo well. The date-almond shakes are great too, my friend bought the Juice book just so she could make them.

Juice for life is my very fav restaurant. I've been going there for years. The service is a little slow, but great food!

I especially like the fake meats in the morning... faux bacon sandwiches, faux sausage mcmuffins... it's great to eat a meat substitute knowing you are actually eating healthy. I don't do dairy either, so I get the same feeling eating cookies, muffins, cakes etc. made with tofu... lots o' protein, low on fat.
