Def one of my favorite producers over the last few years. Killer remixer.

He needs to make a trip thtough footwork soon.

Favorites:

Postal Service - Such Great Heights (John Tejada Remix)

Claude Von Stroke - Deep Throat (Tejada Remix)

Telepopmusik - Don't Look Back (Tejada Remix)

There's many a thread lamenting the lack of Tejada appearences over in the Techno forum. I too would love to see hear a Tejada set as somewhere like Footwork, and I think they've tried to get him but to no avail.

His most recent album, Logic.Memory.System album is pretty wicked and appeals as much to indie kids as us house and tech heads. For me he's an artist that transcends a lot of boudaries and I can't think of any working producer I'd rank higher.

Count me in front row centre should this show ever go down.

My god this is an amazing track:

Postal Service - Such Great Heights (John Tejada Remix)
I really think it might be one of the most affecting pieces of electronic music I've ever heard.

After hearing the original and The Shins cover, Tejada slows things down, adds so many layers and makes it into quite the mourful little piece of almost dance music. When those strings hit, it's total heartbreak. Yet I wouldn't call it a depressing song because the guitar line picks thing up just enough to look forward.

MikeD has been rocking that for a while in the middle of bumpin tech house bidnezz and it always works so well.

It's one of those perfect pieces of music where every element just adds to its perfection. The lyrics are wonderful too:

I am thinking it's a sign that the freckles
In our eyes are mirror images and when
We kiss they're perfectly aligned
And I have to speculate that God himself
Did make us into corresponding shapes like
Puzzle pieces from the clay
And true, it may seem like a stretch, but
Its thoughts like this that catch my troubled
Head when you're away when I am missing you to death
When you are out there on the road for
Several weeks of shows and when you scan
The radio, I hope this song will guide you home

They will see us waving from such great
Heights, 'come down now,' they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away,
'come down now,' but we'll stay...

I tried my best to leave this all on your
Machine but the persistent beat it sounded
Thin upon listening
And that frankly will not fly. You will hear
The shrillest highs and lowest lows with
The windows down when this is guiding you home

A Mike D special to be sure. I drop it from time to time too.

Nice red vinyl too. It's an LP though, so it's really quiet and requires quite a bit of gain/level adjustment in the mix.

His new track "the end of it all" is one of the most beautiful, melodic tech house tracks I've heard in quite some time.
