They've been competitive since as well in arguably the toughest division in baseball.
The organization has been doing a good job over the last 5 years of improving it to a contender. Picking up an ace pitcher sometime this year like they did in 92 would put them in the world series possibly this year assuming their pitching works itself out, continues to improve, and injuries are held at bay.
Anyway, this thread was obviously made for the bandwagon jumpers to join in on some Charlie Sheen.
