yes, i am a true fan of golf..
i suck at it, but i love to watch it..

the masters, the most prestigious of the four majors begins on thursday morning.

who are you watching this year? besides tigger i'm gonna keep my eye on olazabal, singh and duval..

i so look forward to this weekend.. it's the first tournament that marks the official spring season and the weather is always nice (here and at augusta)..
i love sitting by the tube with the warm spring air wafting in through the spring door, getting stoned and watching an action packed sunday on the back nine..

DAMN, you got me thinking about golf... I've been dieing to hit the course again, nothing better than spending a sunny sunday afternoon on the links...

Tiger is always a serious threat at the big tournaments, but I'm also going to be keeping my eye on Garcia... I think this could be a big year for him...

i was doing some research today to decide who to put into my lines for the weekend.. and it seems that this is going to be the most disastrous year ever at the masters..

expect very high scores (+ might win this year) and very big position changes on every hole... the grass is running at 13-14 on the stimpmeter, i think the average course (pga style) is 10 or 11.. those be some slick greens!

i can't friggen wait

my favs...

I like to get a bit silly when i do my picks for this event...

... watch the south african Els... I like the way he's been playing lately. Obviously, tiger is the man to watch... and don't be fooled by canadian boy M.W.

what's this years purse ?

i wish i could put weir in my lineup..

but my pool is broken into a b and c type players.
unfortunately weir is in A and so is tigger and phil and duval etc etc
it's a tough decision.

can't find the purse info, it's usually about 1 million for the winner.

Could be anybody's to win this year.
With the added distance you would think it would be one of the longer hitters, but ya never know. There's a much greater premium on hitting it straight, so even a medium hitter who is very accurate could be in there. And if the greens are that fast, who cares how far you hit it. If you hit the par 5's in 2 but then 4 putt......bogey is a bogey.

I'll take Ernie E, Phil, and Chris DeMarco as my longshot. Of course, Tiger could also shot 20 under and walk away with it. All I know is that I'll be watchin'.

what kind of a pipe dream was i riding when i assumed that duval could place in the masters? he's as useless as a tit.

olazabal and retief are looking good.

and jerry kelly is like +3 for the day, another bad pick

WWW.masters.org has a great pop-up with continuous leader board updates.. you can customize it with your favorite players (aka pool picks)

My favorite pass time on Sundays is turing on golf and watching Mike Weir shit the bed.:p

what's the course record at augusta?

I'm not sure if it's the course record or not, but Nick price and Greg Norman have both shot 63's during the tournamant

63 (33-30), Nick Price, third round, 1986
63 (33-30), Greg Norman, first round, 1996

Katman - God damn Weir doubles 16 to finish -1.

Go team South Africa!

Big delay has led to the greens being very receptive to the 2nd shots....Ernie went birdie, birdie, eagle, birdie on 13,14,15,16.
Can't wait till this afternoon's telecast! Got my green Jacket all ready to go for tomorrow! Yeah Masters.

Anyone who takes time out of their lives to watch other people smack a ball around for 4.5 hours deserves to get their glasses broken by an shot!!!!

I've been to the weekend of a PGA Championship and for the most part it was all about heat and BO as you are in close contact with tonnes of other spectators. It's like the Molson Park smell, but instead of a mosh pit it's a stand still and be quiet pit. It's interesting to see, but it's expensive, crowded and can get pretty boring unless you're a true junkie.

The only worthwhile moment was at the end of the tournament when Davis Love III sunk the 12 foot birdie putt on the crazy 18th [@winged foot] to win his first major and then seeing him reduced to tears because it felt like his father, who died in a plane crash, was watching over him. Meanwhile, there was a gorgeous rainbow in the backdrop.

i like it when they pan over to the crowd and you see them wearing their golf outfits ... complete with spiked shoes. it's like they're at a hockey/football/team sport game except they really don't have a 'team' jersey to wear so they think if they wear their outfit it will be like they're part of the action.

and then they get hit on the head with an errant tee shot 'cuz they were too busy staring at tiger's bum.

it would be similar to fans of a marathon race watching it on the roadside wearing spandex shorts and a numbered tank top.
