It was a sad day today.

My dog died. I have grown very close to him over the past thirteen years. So many memories.....

The hardest part was driving away from the vet, realizing I would never see him again. I cried.

sorry to hear that....

My dog died last year, and although all it did was bark all the time I still miss it.

hey, i'm sorry to hear that. i know what ur going through.

my dog died on the morning of sept 11. He was 12 years old, and not in good health. We had to put him to sleep, it was so hard to watch him go, so hard to agree to the decision, so hard to actually let the vet inject him.....

we've had him since he was 6 weeks old, and he's been there for me ever since. i get teary eyes still whenever i think of him.

but i know he's always be around and in my heart. all the memories are still with me.

just think of the good times you had with ur dog, it's hard at first...i hope u'll feel better soon. Your dog will always be around too.

I dont know what my mom is going to do. Her life revolved around him. I think she was hit the hardest of all.

His bed used to be right beside my computer, and he would lay there and watch me while I read this site. Now there is just an empty space.

I miss him so much......

i miss my dog too.....

but trust me, you'll feel better soon, like even though my dog's not here anymore, i'm happy when i think of him, how he had brought so much joy into my life and my family's, i'm just really glad he was there all those years.

i hope ur mom feels better. my dog was very important to my mom and grandmother too. he would follow them around all day, and he's there with them when all the kids are out. my mom still dreams of him sometimes, i know she misses him a lot...

I'm so sorry to hear that. I've had dogs since I was eight years old and I've cried everytime one of them has passed. They really are part of your family and when they're not around anymore, it really is sad.

my condolences.

Sorry to hear that Dave.

Our family always got a new puppy when one passed away. I think it's the best solution, cuz they're so damn cute and help shift the focus to something totally new. A relationship rebound, if you will.

Condolences on the loss though...grieving is a tough thing to go through.

our families are exactly the same. If one of our dogs dies, we get a new one right away. My father always says no, but my mom and sister just go out and get another, figuring he can't and won't say no when they bring the new puppy home.

it always works....

Same with my dad. I remember when my mom and sister brought home a rottweiler when our last dog died, and my dad was really upset about their choice. But it turned out to be the sweetest dog you've ever met.

this thread is making me way too emotional, i'm going to play with my dog now. why do dogs have to be so cute. i'd pick a puupy over a baby any day!

Wow, I came home from work today, and this little tiny jack russell terrier puppy came running up to me! My mother made a pretty quick impulse purchase there.

Right now she feels guilty about it, asking my dad if she should take her back, but my dad wants to keep her, and my mom wasnt expecting that. We all fell in love with her.

We named her Maggie, after Woody's mother.
