A guy here at work refused to install Google Mobile because he wasn't "comfortable" with the EULA. Apparently they can take all the information you do for searches and shit (along with your IP address) and pass that along to interested parties. I think I'm still going to install it on mine but just thought I'd share that.

i've had huge issues with calls not being received (for once i'm thankful for that stupid whocalled feature) and calls taking like 30 seconds to start ringing, wtf.

it's ridiculous sometimes.

google mobile is kinda cool, i installed easy writer today, and its sweet, i like the tilt type function, makes 2 thumbing it fast.

still havent experienced the not receiving calls thing, or calls taking more than a sec or two to start, but i always charge my battery from completely dead to full charge, so it always has time to reboot, and i only have probably 15 - 20 apps downloaded.

and its not jailbroken.

New firmware is out. Apple indicates that it has stability fixes related to the call issues some of you have been having.

is anyone else have problems with their f'ing mail?

no matter what i do or which account i use there are errors from imap to invalid address. i normally use gmail but this morning discovered that i can't send from my rogers accounts either.

i've had this thing for months and never had an issue until yesterday morning.

i've restored, deleted and reinstalled the accounts manually, through the iphone setup, and through outlook and even updated the firmware this morning thinking that google was screwing around with their settings because of the new walking directions available through maps. i've done everything in the apple and gmail forums. it doesn't matter which wifi signal i'm on, or 3g, or edge. NA-FUCKING-DAH email. Day 2. send help.

i want to throw this thing out. but won't.

NetShare does not require jailbreaking if you actually bought the app when it was available. I have read that it works with Macs & PCs equally, but I don't own a PC to try it out with...

Nps with email whatsoever for me (GMail, Exchange, POP).

I find it strange how it seems to be exacerbating for people (and myself), I really wonder why the phone's capabilities would be degrading so much. I called Fido and they really offered no help what so ever, I'm really hoping the 2.2 fixes these problems.

As an aside, one thing that I used yesterday that is fantastic, and helped keep me from smashing the phone, is the Red Rocket app. Such a helpful and well made app.

EDIT: Also for some reason I can't seem to get an upgrade to the new google mobile app. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Has anyone else had this issue?

Triple post score!

I'm a putz, I guess when I reinstalled it, it installed the newer update. I just didn't realize I had to go to settings to turn on the voice capability.

At my office, I've noticed that anyone that's needed tech support has had way better responses dealing w/ Apple and/or Apple Stores directly. Going through Rogers or Fido will just send you into infinite loops :p

interesting. not an iphone user, but I've heard from a few people in the last week that iphone service (missed calls, dropped calls) is a big headache. It surprised me to hear that, and I was curious as to whether it's a common problem or an isolated thing?

Wow I just tried the street view on my 3G and I gotta say it's freaking cool! Sadly Toronto is not on there but check out New York or San Francisco...panning around is sooooo smooth.

OH damn! That's one of my biggest fears of carrying the thing around as well. I don't mind losing a cell that maybe cost me $150 but when it's closer to $300 for my phone it would really hurt if I lost it.
