Indoor tanning

I work in a tanning salon and see hundreds of people come in and tan, male and female. On the other hand all of my guy friends say it is gay and the concept is too "weird".

I think tanning is nasty. If you do it for a long time your skin starts to lose its elasticity and becomes leathery, like the above mentioned woman in Something about Mary.

I used to go. I am half polish and my polish genes determined my skin color, so I am a white mofo. So I wanted some color and used to "power tan". Hit the bed every 2 days. I did get dark, I did get a nice tan. BUT, it cost so fucking much.

I pretty much stopped going, and in NO TIME AT ALL, I am white as fuck again.

All in all, it's alot easier then being in the sun. I actually like the standup beds (except I am too fucking tall for them now) but unless you shit $$, I wouldn't go.

I go periodically... I hate being too white. Although I'm not albino by any means...

Plus I work 9-5 and never have a chance usually to get outside and get some natural sun.

But I am by no means a leather face And I feel 10-20 minutes of controlled Sun is better that hours outside with pollution and UV rays

I tan and I love it
I don't look like leather. I go like 2 or 3 times a week but i take care of my skin so it looks really natural.
I also only do it in the winter.

UV rays are what give you a tan, whether it's outside or inside...

Concentrated UV (i.e. tanning bed) over your whole body is pretty bad... 15 minutes in a tanning bed is equivalent to smoking a pack of cigarettes in its carcinogenic potential (skin cancer vs. lung cancer <----- let's have a death match).

There is no such thing as a "healthy tan".

Not all of us are like that

My dad shaved his head for a charity thing back in the fall.. He decided to keep shaving his head so he started to go tanning to even out the colour.. he still goes fairly regularly.. he really enjoys it.

There is not only the benefit of getting a nice tan but UV(tanning) does a lot of good stuff too. It helps clear up acne, it makes you happier, and it also boosts your sex drive

Saying that it is healthy is like saying cigarette smoke exercises your lungs.

A tan is caused by damage to your DNA... damage to DNA leads to cancer... simple fact.

There is no safe tan or safe cigarette...
