I think people (wrongly) associate EVERYONE who goes to a tanning salon with those women you see with the really dark tan, starting to crinkle, with white rings around their eyes from the goggles and white patches under their arms.
This is not true of every tanning salon patron!!
Personally, I only tan regularly in the spring months, and it's only for a little glow. Nothing MAJOR like you might imagine. I also might go for a few sessions if I have an important formal coming up. But it's only to take the edge of pastiness away!
I also protect my face everyday by using an SPF moisturizer. I bet a lot of y'all don't do that! The sun can reach you anywhere....while driving in your car, while out enjoying a patio, while walking to work. Just because you don't go to a tanning salon doesn't mean you are safe from the sun or will successfully avoid skin cancer.
Sorry about the rant, I'm just tired of the tanning salon sterotypes making a bad name for the rest of us.
