I'm Going To Laugh ...

TRIBE Member
... tomorrow after the Pistons beat the Raptors
And I'm going to be doing it, well not only as a long time Pistons fan, but because I see some sense of irony in it
Honestly I don't know how or where I see it
I just see some irony in the Pistons beating the Raptors in 3 games ... don't you?

i·ro·ny (r-n, r-)
n. pl. i·ro·nies

*The use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning.
*An expression or utterance marked by a deliberate contrast between apparent and intended meaning.
*A literary style employing such contrasts for humorous or rhetorical effect.
*Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs: “Hyde noted the irony of Ireland's copying the nation she most hated” (Richard Kain).
*An occurrence, result, or circumstance notable for such incongruity.

There ain't no irony here

unless he expected the raptors to sweep detroit. But then he probably wouldn't be laughing, so the whole thing is full of holes. Oh well. Basketball players are assholes.

Truly one of the best episodes ever.

Kent Brockman: "Mr. Simpson how would you explain that beatings have gone up 86% since your group was formed."

Homer: "You can find stats to prove anything Ken. 40% of people know that."
