If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?

Maybe I'm just getting the travel back again or getting homesick for Europe and Africa but at Easter dinner last night the topic came up. (Un)surprisingly most of my family said they'd prefer to live in Canada.

I on the other hand decided I would definetly want to live in either Zanzibar in Tanzania, or in Sienna in Rome.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live? and why?

I prefer Canada. I drove up to Sault ste. Marie a few weeks ago, and the scenery was absolutely spectacular. I love the Canadian shield, with its huge rocky hills covered by coniferous forests, dipping down into beautiful crystal clear lakes....... Does it get any better?

If I could choose anywhere else in the world, i would pick Scandinavia, but Canada wins by a long shot.

I would pick Canada...I love home. Everytime I leave I realize that fact over and over again. Other places that I found tolerable would be London England, Bombay India, and Manila Philippines, and Tokyo Japan. I guess I am a big city boy at heart. I love the noise. I guess it's cause I grew up in Kitchener and I hate being alone so I always want to be surrounded by people. Quiet scares me!

London or Edinburgh.

But I imagine I would love living in Berlin except I've never been there so I can't really say.

I love Canada with all my heart, but the winter is not my thing anymore.

It's all about Spain or Portugal to me.
Sun, great music scene, sun, relaxed lifestyle, sun, ocean border, close to anything Europe-wise,.....and did i mention sun?
I have to enroll in Spanish classes soon!

If only Toronto would hurry up with the whole greenhouse effect thing and become a tropical paradise, then I'd be more content with staying....

I would have no problems living in Holland, Ireland, or Australia. Mind you I haven't visited enough places to rule many out.
I am also quite happy in Canada though. B.C. would be lovely for a while.

I am still getting used to Toronto. It is quite the difference from Moose Jaw, where I lived my entire life.

i'm sure most of us COULD live in any country in the world.

i choose to stay in toronto because my family is here, my best friends are here, and because i love it. i've fallen in love with other parts of the world too, but i'll settle for visiting those places and LIVING here.

I, like KMW, love Toronto. I can't say there's a better city then this one. I haven't traveled enough but something tells me I wouldn't like to live in those other cities for over a year or two.

Of the places I have visited:

London (England)
Spain
Amsterdam
New York
Paris
Montreal (lived there but maybe will go back one day soon)

Places I have not but think I would like:

Sydney
San Francisco
Italy

I like Toronto as well but life is too short to stay in one place all your life :)

You took my answer! :)

After living in Toronto for the first 24 years of my life and appreciating & enjoying it, I didn't fully realize how

vibrant
diverse
not boring

Toronto was until moving away and working in the Midwest U.S.

Peace,

Sabina

life in canada is wonderful.
my dad came here by himself at 17 years of age from italy, and said it was the best decision of his life.

like klubmasta will said, i'm sure i could live in many different places, but i love toronto too much.
plus, it's only a 4-5 hour drive to montreal.
