just switched to XP today, and am trying to install ICQ. i download the install file, then run it and it gives me the error message that it is not a valid win32 application.

anyone know what this means or why it would happen?

Either your XP installation is fuct up or you did something to it...

Either way, If you have norton utilities, run that. If not, try to reinstall XP.

Hey vinder, go to the windows webpage and download all the patches that have come out for XP.

It's reallllllly buggy, and they've released alot of shit that may help you out.

ICQ is downloaded for me, and installed fine.

I hope that helps hun.

As shit as this sounds, re-install XP. That just doesn't sound right. I can't express enough to start with something working! That is not working properly and I guarantee will only cause you more grief later on. That's just too odd.

this is really really weird now. all the same problems i was having before i reformatted my comp and installed XP (i was running win98 before) are now reappearing.

some webpages only open part of a page, things don't install... i don't get this at all, i JUST INSTALLED IT.

grr...if my sis' comp is virus infested and she's causing this i'll break her nose.

Its time for her to pray to her god as well.

Format HD. Install XP. Dont connect your computer to hers. Download icq again and try to install it.
