Speaking of Mr. T (look to your left!), I met Mr. T once in the Swiss Chalet at Bathurst and Bloor. It was during the filming of his short-lived series "T'n'T" or whatever the fuck it was called.

I said "Hey Mr. T!"

He said "Hey son, you doin' alright?"

I said "Sure Mr. T!"

He said "Alright.".

We went our seperate ways and ate our perspective meals in quiet contemplation, Not a day has passed in all the years since that fateful meeting that I don't shed a silent tear as my heart continues to break.

i met mr.t too.

it was at a toys R us in the early '80's and it was absolutely packed. you had to buy a mr.t toy to see him so we scrounged up all our money for the "talking doll" mr. t. my little brother and i were anxiously awaiting his arrival.

when he came onstage and flexed his muscles, the crowd cheered, roaring his name! what a great spectacle, all his gold chains were dazzling, blinding us with their gleam!

when it got to be our turn, mr.t sloppily signed the book i had given him, (when i was older i learned he was illiterate and only learned to read later in life...his signature was shaky and adorable,) and he put his arm around me, gently said "y0 girl, how you?"

as we were leaving he pointed at me and said: "stay in school! take care of y0self, & take care of y0 l'il brutha! family should be tight, a'ight?"

i will never forget that day. i was awestruck at the time.
he was so nice. true story.
