Uhm, seeing as I won't have my vagina until next week's operation, why not get a prescription for muscle relaxants from your doc? Or atleast try out some robaxacet. The last conversation I had with a head of pharmacology, he said that he actually prefers robaxacet to prescription muscle relaxants, although I haven't had any problems with the latter. Maybe they'd help with the cramps.

Magnesium as well - it's the main ion in the body responsible for muscle relaxation, upping your levels could help. FYI, calcium is the main contractile ion, and since most women pay attention to their calcium intake it might help to back off when the cramps are bad.

Also, multiple orgasms.

thanks deep-ko-chan,
well, it seems as though the supplements that my mom recommended me to take has got all these things that you listed to take..i just started taking them like for a week and plus,,so i think i need to continue taking them so that I may see some difference later on.

But deep - they're called cramps, but are they actually muscle cramps? My vagina's on backorder, so I'm guessing here too, but from what I understand it's a severe discomfort in the stomach, but not an actual cramping of the muscles...

Something like very bad indigestion X5 - which isn't really a muscular discomfort.

Girls, any thoughts?

Finch.

anything that can cramp is skeletal muscle and would be affected by muscle relaxants, me thinks.

but if the hormonal state is overriding things then it may not make a difference.

'nother 12 years and I'll be able to give you a definitive answer.

Yeah the cramps are the muscles in the uterus contracting so the muscle relaxants will work.

But seeing as this "problem" is not going to go away for another 30 years or so, I think preventing the problem is more effective than just treating the problem with prescribed drugs.

Just my 2 cents....

trust sista.

this is so very true. it really is.

backrubs, hot baths, hot water bottles and tylenol menstrual also help.

i find if i stay away from coffee for a few days before my period and during it, my cramps aren't as bad.

cramps are caused by uterine contractions, so yes, they are actually muscle cramps.

weed, lots of water, taking moody aggression out on a good male friend, tea, a small dose of chocolate, lotsa fruits and veggies, exercise, hot baths and midol work for me. so do orgasms...do they ever~! along with the emotional highs/lows, i get reallyreally insatiably horny when i'm pms-ing. a nice romp in the sack cures what ails ye.

does anyone else have a short cycle? i swear, i ovulate once every two and a half weeks...by the time i'm just getting over it i'm pms-y again. i'm thinking of going on the pill, but at least i have an excuse right now to be bitchy three weeks out of every month.;)

go see the movie time machine and watch how the guy builds it then travel into the future to get yourself after menopause and trade places with her then you'll be in the future and still have cramps but it'll be the future so that's pretty coo and the you right now won't have cramps.

or get pregnant.

Hey Kumi!

A lack of Calcium can lead to bad pms. So try to take more of that.

Hmm...and to avoid cramps & pain, avoid eating food that is really salty (chips), fried , sweet, and cold (ice cream). That's what my uncle (who's a chinese herbal doctor and acupunctrist) always advises.

My friend who has bad pms as well went to her doctor, who gave her anti-depressants! Maybe... that might help with mood swings and such.

HTH! :)

hey!! ((waving hands to jus me))

oh wow..your uncle is a chinese herbal medicine doctor?

i would like to see him! lol

i was thinking:
this is odd how canadian takes pain killers to ease the symptoms..and asian (like chinese and japanese) takes the herbal medication that tries to solve the origins that actually causes the pain..

i wonder why salt intake has things to do with menstral pain? is it like because the salt causes blood pressure to go high..and blood flow would not be as smooth as it with lower blood pressure?

one question that i am trying to find the answer for though, maybe deep and finch can find the answer for us: why do chest hurt during pms? like: what is going on?
i felt as though my chest was trying to go through the development so that i could perhaps feed my future babies..but that is something that i need to worry about and would be taken care of when i would be actually pregnant right?

so why do those boobies hurt?

and it sucks cause the boobies shrink in size not that i am talking about britney spears..but yes, they do.

anyone know why?
