I think a lot of people disliked Bonds long before the steroid scandal. Bonds made the decision when he was about 35
if you look at the numbers of all the greats past that age, they don't usually rise let alone to the degree Bonds' did.
guy had hit over 42 homers once by that point. He's done it 5 times since.
His OBP is night and day since his supposed peak years. It's skyrocketed.
He was and is a great ball player but probably has 75-100 more homers than he would have otherwise had (and he'd have over 800 if he'd been pitched to these last five years).
