happy hulla everyone!!

as per usual, a hulla-fantastic time was had by all!!

basic, timmy and i headed down to the Opera House around 11:30ish and got inside just in time for Chiclet's set! woohoo!! hard trance baby! and marcia, the crowd was going off! hands in the air all over the place! i even walked by two guys talking about how much they liked your set. way to go!!

once marcia's set was over, some adventuring began for basic and i. i hit the main floor for Kevin Energy's set, and was slightly uncomfortable. the music too hard, too crowded on the dance floor.....i couldn't get into it.

Frolic put a smile on our faces tho and got us dancing all over the place. great set!! and at the end of his set, he and robin made an announcement....they are having a baby!!! the crowd went off!!

after frolic's set i did some major people meeting....chatted, got bracelats, signed books, made new friends., hugged strangers....all the usual hulla good stuff!!

headed back to the dancefloor for silver1's set. happy birthday tommy!! looked like you were having an awesome time!! i busted out to tommy for a bit, but had to bail as my legs were done!! wish i could have stay for the whole thing.

all in all a great hulla!! a bit different for me, as the majority of my crew was absent. as always, great times with basic. love you!! and good to meet up again with the beautiful crew of teva, david, lindsay and shannon! and to jamgirl and colin from hulla, thanks for the good chats. hope to see you both again!!

happy hullabaloo!!

:)sarah

p.s. i even put together a valentine themed outfit, and i looked damn cute:D

I have to ask...do you guys do all this hullabaloo stuff sober? The only way I can imagine it is wacked on about 200 pills to make it tolerable. I'm not saying it in a rude way, I'm just curious.

I'm totally aware of different strokes for different folks, I'm just kinda fascinated.

Sure, why not. It's kind of like smoking lots of weed and bringing guns to jungle parties. Just part of the atmosphere.

kate... sober in the drug sense.. yes.. but i had a buncha revs in me to keep me hopping....

its an interesting atmosphere to be a part of... if u can just accept it for what it is...

kate, another thing to keep in mind is that you probably HATE happy hardcore, so the idea of enjoying yourself at an HHC party with alot of younger people doesnt appeal to you.
but i actually like it!

Yeah I do. I am just talking about more than the music though, the experience. A lot of kids on drugs and book signing and stuff...I don't know. I'm doing a little mind opening over here and just trying to get a feel for it...(without actually reliving a hullabaloo).

But thank you guys for not reading my comments as facetious, I am really just curious.

c'mon, kate, you would so fit in with your diva attitude and uber-cool outfits. :p

you should go sometime just to watch the dnb set. it's usually marcus or mystical or spinz or capital j or medicine muffin or ruffneck (if those guys still play out) or whoever.

you bring the glowsticks, i'll bring the beads.

I just get antsy with all that fake happy bathroomhangout talk to everyone soother kind of vibe. I've been going to nightclubs for far too long.:(

I guess I could be reprogrammed though will...but Its going to take a fucking lot of conditioning. I don't know if I have it in me.

but the beauty of it is that its not fake!
its like the most anti-jaded, anti-bitter, anti-elitist environment out there.

The not elitist, no bullshit part I definitely get you on, that is for sure refreshing. When I mean fake I mean e-induced superfriendlychattyness. Thats what makes me antsy becaues I know that people are sober they're not generally that out there with that behaviour. I mean are you telling me that people would want a complete stranger to "sign their book" and "feel like they've known em forever even though its been only 5 minutes since they've met them" would happen sans whatever?

PS I'm really not trying to ruin the happy hulla review thread.
