I can't even explain how sad this makes me ... every Saturday since my 1st set at System Joe has been front row centre dancing like a mad man and smiling like no other. I have always had so much time for this very sweet man ... rest in peace my dear friend ... I was very lucky to know him ...

I am sad to hear of this.
I can remember Joe from day one on the dance floor.
He was always out there having fun at so many places over so many years.
I hope he is still dancing.

Wow, a dancefloor pioneer gone. I used to see him around alot at various events/clubs. That man just loved to dance. He absolutely loved the music. What a beautiful way to live a life. Never afraid to do what he loved best. It's very inspiring.

That is some proper respect and love from a man who probably saw and heard it all.

true that!

the little i knew of him makes me wish i'd actually introduced myself once and talked to him, and gotten to know him better.

there was just something about him that made people smile.
it was hisdancing, but also more than that.
the way he carried himself and the aura he seemed to naturally exude... just amazing.
what a great person he was.

This is truly a sad event.

Joe was such an amazing inspiration to me. I remember whoopin' it up with him many times at System's and him making me laugh...he was such an energy giver!!!

And of course as we all did, I tried to guess his age too.

Joe had such amazing karma and will truly be missed by me.

60 yrs old? that guy could dance up a storm. I remember at Industry and System when ever I saw him and I stopped dancing he would kind of just look at me like "why did you stop dancing?"

I will never forget that look.

he died in his 60th year...

he was 59...

him and i used to always converse about HIS chair at VG's...
it is by far the best chair ever!
he always told me to warm it while he warmed the dancefloor for me!

but that chair was the best!....especially for pulling up beside that right side speaker ;)

i will forever remember that dude - he not only always had a smile face - but he reinforced the smile that was upon my face...

whether it be house, dnb, techno...trance.....

i saw him everywhere...............

and i'm one of the little ones'............

let him dance in peace........and save a spot for us......
i'll keep your chair warm ;)

I'm lost for words.

I have seen that guy at parties for over 8 years. I last saw him at Van Go's a little over a month ago. I'm forever grateful for ever meeting him and happy to say the last time I saw him he was still dancing. I am sorry to hear that he is gone, but I will never forget him!!

Has anyone noticed when the service is? Quite a while off.

Greetings Friends,

I am at a loss here in G-Town, but so happy to know that Joe touched so many. I met him back in 1996 when Janos Kocsis and myself started Wednesday night House nights at the Underground. Joe was a constant presence at my events for years, grooving to the beats and giving me high fives over the decks. I will miss running into him on the streets and at Van Gogh's. Peace to everyone... it is these moments when we step back remember and appreciate life.

Peace and Love

He Never Lost His Hardcore!

Take Care Joe,

I enjoyed playing for you in the VIP at System. You were always front and centre with your sunglasses and hood up or asking me when I was playing.
No one danced like you and you never worried about changing your style. I would have NEVER guessed your age!
You will never have to stop dancing again!
RIP
Matt

I do not think my comment was insensitive at all. Joe could always bring a smile to my face after giving me a high five on the dancefloor at System, where I saw him often.

When someone so seemingly fit and healthy suddenly dissapears forever, question marks rise. I hope to learn of what he died of, and I think the question is on many Tribe member's minds.

I was once part of the 3rd Floor VG's Guelph Massive as well (having also played there a few times) and this cripples the scene there.

Joe always (always) put the biggest smile on my face, and I will forever associate him with having a good time in Guelph.

This thread sent shivers down my spine.
