Went on Sunday to see Objectified. A three-minute short called Pockets opened, which I thought was fascinating. Just close ups of faces, and slow focus pulls over the hands of individuals holding stuff found in their pockets.
"This is my crack pipe. I smoke every day"
"This is a key. It opens nothing"
Objectified was pretty cool, only one overly-pretentious woman was interviewed for the entire film, and by and large the people the director spoke with were entertaining and enlightening. Some interesting perspectives on how 'things' are developed and introduced to the marketplace, and a worthy tangent was explored on the need for individuals to consume more consciously.
More importantly, I saw The Cove last night. (

A truly shocking story, captured by the 1st-time director in an incredibly well-paced manner. Apparently they're getting a distribution deal with Maple, so keep an eye out for this later this year. Anyone concerned with sustainability should see this one.
