Hoegaarden

Since being introduced to it in the summer my love has grown. It's been with me for some good times and bad times.

Couldn't find it on College Street to save my life last night and I really wanted some because it has become my "comfort" beverage. Does that sounds too alcoholic? maybe.

i think it tastes good at first... but as soon as you pound back more than two, they start to taste like fermenting lemon peel.

it's good for a drink or two, but if i'm drinkin' to get deey-drunk i'd prefer something with a less tart/acidic aftertaste.

i tried sleeman clear today (!!!) and i thought it was pretty darn good. (!!!)

I love wheat beers... learned to love them in Switzerland a while back and never lost the taste for 'em - especially in summertime. Best way to have a wheat beer is with a slice of lemon crushed at the bottom before you swig it.

You might be right, I don't have the most sophisticated opinion on booze really.

I'm not usually a fan of wheat beers, but I tried this stuff with "Hacker" in its title (german I believe) that was pretty damned good and better than Hoegaarden. You might enjoy it.

edit: think this is the full name, although wojtek can correct: Hacker Pschorr Heffe Weissbier

Wheat beer is now my fave. I get a really gross pasty beer taste in my mouth after too many blondes (ha), or any other kind of beer.

Mind you, it's rare that I have more than 2 or 3 beer at a time anyways...

Last night I tried some chinese beer that started with a C - anyone know what it might be called? Seemed pretty popular at the restaurant we were at (Lee Garden)

deep: I know the beer you are referring to - it's bavarian. when we went to oktoberfest in munich last year I believe we got right stinking wasted in their beer garden. highly recommended!

It is a great treat
But I would not drink it on the regular
That being said I'd say its my Fav
Best to be drank in the heat or after something physically demanding

Had to try Hoegaarden after I saw the GLASS it came in! I felt like I was getting three beers in one glass AND got my bi-ceps curls in while drinking.
I prefer lagers though.
That being said, my favv for awhile now has been Steam whistle. I'm sure the extra buzz comes from being brewed 100 ft. from good ol' Lake Ontario.

I'm a big fan. I usually only have 2 max, so I'm not sure about the fermented lemon peel comment.

It is more difficult to find in the city as well. Most of the place around me have it though.

Indeed. I knew the garden o' hoes and I were not cut out to be friends when I found out about the coriander... bleh. It's fairly cool that they serve it by the bucket in some joints though.
