Hey, we have an election too.

I was just going to start a thread about Sarah Palin's hair and then I remembered that some people here in Canada also seem to want to be in charge of something.

The NDP is gaining unprecedented support against the Liberals, the Green Party is not only allowed to be in the debate on Thursday, but will be speaking first, and the Conservatives drop their platform today.

Which way are you voting? Are you even paying attention? I'd be interested to see how many people watch the leader's debate on Thursday instead of the Palin-Biden dustup on the same night.

Palin-Biden dubstep?! I'm there!

Also I really want to watch the US VP debate, it will be a tough call. I'm likely not voting for Harper, but I'd like to hear what Celine and The 'Stache have to say to each other.

i'm voting for peggy nash (ndp).

the other day gerrard kennedy (lib) was chilling in the subway with george smitherman, and he introduced himself and asked for my support. i told him that i'm voting for peggy, and he said, 'well, if you wake up and change your mind, take a look at this information.'

insulting me is not going to get me to vote for you, buddy!

Alaska should complain about all the noise pollution travelling over the water from Russia. Maybe then they will close Russia (at least after 11pm, or have them turn the volume down) so the Alaskan residents can get some sleep.

CBC has been all over this every night. The one thing that seems to be consistent with Canadians is they want more focus placed on future economics, and they want those economics to be tied to greener industry.

I think it's good that all this shit is happening to our south, it lends more consideration to our own elections and what direction our country will take.

I'm still undecided, but looking forward to the debates this week. Truthfully I'm leaning towards Nash (NDP)

maybe he meant, 'wake up' as in 'wake up one morning with a different attitude toward the candidates,' not 'wake up' as in 'you are dreaming' :)

is there riding specific poll info at all? i mean, if there's any way that my riding could go conservative i'd vote lib to avoid it, but i think that's very very unlikely. there's no conservative ridings at all in downtown toronto are there?

Harper will get his majority, Dion will get the boot, NDP will still hire pot heads & the Green Party recycles

Nope, the conservatives don't have a single seat in Toronto. However, I was canvassing with my friend who's running with the NDP in South Etobicoke (Ignatieff's riding) and I was really surprised at the amount of support that Conservative has down there.

Even though I'm in Layton's riding and my parents were at one point NDP supporters, I've considered myself a swing vote for most elections and heres what I've come up with

between Mulroney, Jean, Martin and now Harper..I'm not satisfied with the current situation of Canada...maybe it's time for a change in policy and leadership...and as odd as Layton is in recent years...I do like how he is going after harper and the conservitive and thier record and not even paying attention to the Libs...

Are you planning on voting in a Conservative?!

There are a few swing ridings in TO, though it's almost always between NDP and Liberal. You could always move over to Spadina and help bolster Olivia Chow against Ianno.

edit: I mean Innes, Ianno's wife.

Why would you pay attention to the Libs? They're a disaster right now & it goes much farther than choosing the wrong leader.

i'm also thinking about doing this.

how do you do it again? go to the pole and tell them you want to decline your ballot? do they look at you like you're retarded?

haha, lol. i'm pretty sure my riding is staunchly liberal. so i'll just make my little ndp vote and feel very very glad that it didn't help split the centre/left and allow the conservatives in in my riding at least.

My area the Liberals always win... I'm voting for the green party. I hope to god that the Conservatives don't get a majority government because we would see some stupid things passed if they where. I don't care who wins as long as it's a minority government.
