everynow and then when it turns on and gets passed all the windows and ms-dos looking start up screens and openw up in windows environment, it goes like this:

if you looks closely you can make out a very stretched image of my desktop wallpaper.

thing is, i can see the cursor fine, it isnt distorted at all

*note: image appears blurrier than in actual life*

and the monitor controls come out fine too

so woudl it be the monitor? or video card?
does this have anything to do with my speakers being near the monitor?

i usually fix it by pressing the suspend button on my keyboard and unsuspending it after a few seconds, still, i'd prefer if i didnt have to do this. i'd like to know what the problem is and fix it.

anyone have a clue whats going on??

it looks to me like the synch information being sent to your monitor is being botched along the way..

try uninstalling & updating your videocard drivers to their latest version.

Isn't that the one that zaps the monitor (great terminology) to eliminate static electricity / dust on the screen?
