help me with ideas for a CD cover

I'm doing a CD cover for a certain Trance DJ... lol. She wants a characature of herself doing something.

this DJ has a big sence of humour, she spins hard German Trance, doesn't take herself too seriously, and wants something fun on the cover.


any ideas? I'm better at Illustrating then coming up with ideas like this.. help me out! My one idea was having her stirring a big pot full of vinyl.

You get her in a Bad Boy Bill pose (with you standing behind her) and she can be "Banging the Box".....

how about you make a mini-marcia running aorund on a giant turntable? running away from the needle maybe?

Or just make her surfing! surfing charactures are always cool.

whats wrong with the mixing idea? oh I know.. you just don't like it cause its your idea!

From a different angle, I must admit that I find covers of CD's much more intriguing when you have abstract art, or the company's logo on the cover. As it creates an easier recognition factor, allows for a bit more creativity and will allow fans to know instantly who it is that they're buying. Good examples are the old Slinky CD covers, the Gatecrasher CD covers, Otis's CD covers and the like. I know that it doesn't show the dj's face on the cover, but I'm looking at it from a marketing standpoint.

From the Ministry of count on me to bring the business tangent into it and ruin all the fun.

how about mini-marcia is trying to lift the giant needle onto the record? I didn't like the idea of running away from the needle.. it gives a bad impression I think..

....or marcia swimming (naked)in sea of chiclets

or how about a package of chickelts that have chicklets shaped like little marcia heads.... or is that really creepy?

if you can fit a package of chicklets in there somewhere it'd be gold!

Presedente, I see that.. but Marcia's not into taking over the world and having everyone know her.. This is just a CD to give out to promotors.. it's not gonna be available for the public. I don't think she's really interested in that. I don't know.

I donno it she just wants me to do a characature of her.. or if she really wants it for the cover.. I'll ask her.

Abstract is NOT out of the question..

How about a Photography cover?

I like those.


Here's an idea I had once....


Take a picture of her eye, all nice and close like (I think you posted one once)

And then photoshop in a "ghosted" image of her spinning or holding her record bag with her headphones on.

Or something like that.


I'm really into the photo covers.....

the more I think about it, the more I think she might just want me to do a characature of her. but I'll do that anyways.. hhmmmm
