Exactly. Some guy I dated when I was 17 called me about 5 years later when he moved back to Toronto. But he called my cell phone, which I only got when I was 19 or 20. I have no idea how he got it. Weird.

It is not a frantic search. I just asked for some advice in using search tools. I figured I would ask the folks on this site cause I am sure there are a few of you with an open mind. It's not like this is a conservative site where people are bound by a specific ideology. My wife knows about what happened and she knows that if I had the opportunity I would talk with her again.

Well we obviously don't know all the details, hence the reaction you are getting here.

But if you and your wife are in agreement that you would feel better finding this person... then good luck. Sorry I have no helpful suggestions.

I knew I was going to get bashed for starting this but I thought what the hell.. If any of you ever experience something like this in the future you will understand why. a similar thing happened to me about a year ago. i had a few [non-sexual] dreams about my first 'real' boyfriend/love, after 13 yrs of no contact, and i decided to try to see if i could find him to see what was up with him.

turns out he's a full prof at western, so when i googled his name, i got his work email addy.

he was happy to hear from me, and we exchanged a couple 'catch up' emails, and that was that.

it was kinda cool, really.

I've gotten in touch with people (i.e. good friends, non-romantic) that i haven't heard from in 10+ years. It's great fun, kinda like a H.S. reunion, only in a controlled environment. Turns out the guy is following a similar carreer path as i am.. we had loads of fun catching up on ol' times.

i got a call from my ex from england a few years back, she said she had a very vivid dream of me and wanted to see how i was doing, luckily i was visiting my mother at the time she called....it was great to catch up, we talk every once in awhile.....my gf at the time exploded when i told her i had talked to her,.....i was like, um..she lives in england and is married...SYKO

I have no clue! I will definitely not start with, I had a dream... That would be crazy! We got along so well at the time I thought I would just wing it. I would let her know the reason for my call 10-15 minutes in the conversation.
