Just an update:

The Hells sent a letter to Mel's office telling him they think he was disrespectful. And that if didn't want the shirt he should have just said "No, thank you".

They are demanding an apology and they want the shirt back!

I bet those cheeky bikers are having a fucking ball with this shit. Too funny.

he basically said that he had no idea that they were major players in the drug trade. nor did he know that they were even involved with organized crime.

once since he became mayor of Toronto. He was mayor of North York for like 20 years though.

Everything stupid he's done has been since the last election. I doubt if he'd be re-elected if he ran again.

The only one who was even pretending to be a politician was Tooker Gomberg... who is basically scum, but realised that he was the only one people *might* take seriously, and so he put everything he had into it...

people didn't take him verry seriously...

Don't you think eveyone is overreacting? I mean it was a handshake for pete sake. What was he gonna do say no i don't want to shake your hand, thats just plain disrespect, and would make the Angels upset. Sorry but when someone puts out their hand the next person is gonna shake it no matter what, i think everyone, media included should give the guy a break.

So is everyone saying that if a member of Hells Angels put out their hand you wouldn't shake it because you know what their about?
NO you probably would shake their hand cause its normal and be scared not too. What makes MEL so different than everyone else?

Lastman is a tool, but is it surprising that he's city mayor considering all the otehr buffons ellected into power throughout history?

His personality seems very unstable, could be due to many years yelling "noooooooooobody!" that'd make any man crazy. Just look at the way he goes apeshit over city problems, everything is taken to the tenth degree. Fuck man chilax, smoke a doob or something, sheesh.

like i mentioned in the earlier hell's angels thread, it's like the mayor of chicago shaking al capone's hand.

it was a publicity stunt designed for all the tv and news cameras and mel fell for it like a rookie.

but it wasn't ONLY a handshake, there was the boiling pot remark, the illegitimate children incident, the shoplifting wife incident, the threatening to kill a reporter incident and calling the army when it snows. I'm sure there are more but that's all I can remember.

What does matter is that the city is, at the moment beyond broke...

And untill the verry last minute, Lastman kept on insisting that we were doing fine...

Lastman isn't a bad mayor cause he's not media savy... Lastman's a bad mayor cause he's not running the city properly.

obviosly those that is what it comes down to, but if someone is capable of doing/saying all the stupid ass shit he has, then how the hell are they going to be capable of running the largest city in Canada?

bottom line: Lastman's a goof. nuff said.

So because he is the mayor he's not supposed to shake hands?

I wouldn't go as far as saying its like the mayor of Chicago shaking Al Capone's Hand. The Angels are just starting to make their mark in the city, Chicago was known for the maffia. When people think Toronto do they think Hells Angels? No. Al Capone is and was a legitimate Mob Boss who killed people and ran the whole city from prohibition to prostitution to gambling to traffiking to everything else he did, sorry but the Angels don't run the city of Toronto, at least not yet..........
There will never be another Al Capone, you can't compare anything to him or what he did.
Al Capone was ruthless and killed people in cold blood, the Angels don't run like that.....

Sure I'd shake their hand because I value my life... but I wouldn't make the trek all the way to the Holiday Inn with cameras and reporters everywhere to shake their hand.

Mel wanted to shake their hand. That's why everyone considers the handshake so "wrong".
