Harvest 2015

I went up and helped the setup crew for a day/night two weeks ago with my daughters (kind of a yearly tradition since I don't make the festival itself anymore). If possible, the land if looking even more beautiful than usual this year. It's going to be a great festival this year!

Next year - hopefully a better lineup. seeing a lot of the local djs at small venues year round - even house parties - makes the whole thing not very exciting. paying $180 to see friends and acquaintances spin is a bit rich. Gaudi is an awesome addition to the lineup, but still not worth biting the bullet for. Regardless, it'll be a great party - I'm just pouting about the music situation (which I realize is totally subjective).

koxbox is such a sick producer. i want to go up just for this guy alone, it also helps i know friends who are going to, who aren't complete idiots!

Ya woulda tried to hitup the KoxBox for sure - he was a major fixture for me in those crazy days from like 1999-2002...
THo i know he made his name a bit earlier than that, back then he was already an "elder statesman" for early psy (back when it was actually good!)
Thats one thing this year would have over last year - i never stay long but I like passing through the psy area at Harvest for old time's sake and i still have a ton of old friends keeping the flame alive - but last year with the windstorm destroying their stage the "wedding tent" experience was a little lame!
Should be good year for them to recover at an awesome stage!

I know for sure bring lots of bottled water, there is no free flowing water onsight.
AFAIK there is food provided, but lineups can be long, probably best to come prepapered with additional supplies of your own.

all day Sunday was gorgeous. Sunny, hot, blue sky, all good. And you prepare for that as well...
Did not think the site was muddy. Couple spots, but that's just regular condensation on a farm at night. Parking lot was fine, trails fine, dance floors fine.

There were very few people from my network of friends who went this year. People having babies, people just kinda moving on from it, I guess. I would be in both categories. The last year I went (2013) was great, but I knew it would be my last year. The festival was starting to feel different for me. I wanted to preserve my amazing Harvest memories from the 4 years I attended, instead of going one more year, and possibly tainting the memories. But I always love to hear about Harvest, and it makes me smile

Robert Babicz, Kenny Glasgow, BOK all one after another on Sat night... I'll be there. Rain is in the forecast again - I don't think it's ever NOT rained when I've been at Harvest...

Best Harvest I have ever been to by far. Tee-shirt weather on Saturday night! Harvest Moon on Friday and a clear sky. Smaller crowd, good vibes all around. Music in Crystal Six on Saturday was ridic. Nice progression from Babicz' melodic trancey sounds to jacking house from Ali Black (one of Toronto's best locals), to dark and dirty tech from Kenny... I was destroyed after that and didn't stick around for BOK, but I am sure they were great... Amazing weekend.
