so I worked a bingo one day for charity and after walking/standing for 7 hours. my back went haywire. it was a day or two after I hit a pb on deadlifts.

my legs went all tight and then my back started to complain. by the time I got home, it pretty much completely seized up. barely made it into the bathroom to get the voltaren (anti-inflamatory)

something went all wonky with a disc, I guess.

Went to the doctor and he said I'm probably just imbalanced in terms of strength. the weaker muscles were just complaining/seizing.

So yeah, that's the last time I get curious with deadlifts. I'll gradually make my way up to 315 now vs just giving it on what appeared to be a good day at the gym lol

fuck me this is annoying to sit, walk, ride the motorbike, etc., etc.
may i ask what footwear you were wearing? if im on my feet all day, wearing any shoes that raise my heels alot (eg. hiking boots) my low back gets hyper-lordotic and experience what you did. flatter shoes (more natural posture) feel better. for me at least. just a thought....

i did sets of 5 at 345 on monday. getting my ass down to toilet level for my daily morning dump has been challenging this week. my back seizes up at night. i grab on to the sink and slowly lower myself like i'm trying to dock onto the space station. takes about 1-2 mins. i can get enough forward momentum by swinging my upper body to get off the toilet. I need to get my bathroom handicap equiped.

Needs more donut.

i know're you're just trolling, but i'll feed you anyways...

I'm cutting, so its more like

1. Start Cycle
2. lift
3. Maintain a caloric defecit.
4. Profit.

after 12 years of bulking i've decided to do a cutting cycle myself. there's a hell of allot to cut. pisses me off that i'm losing fat on my arms, legs, and everywhere else but the gut seems to be digging in for a long hard battle.

I was wearing some basic, shitty lacoste shoes. No support or anything.

Now the pain is jumping from the right to left and back again.

There's huge balls of lactic acid just built up in my lower, lower back. Got to the point where I'm wearing a weight belt at work to make it feel better.

Going for a massage today and chiro/physio tomorrow. Hopefully that helps. Have a volleyball pratice on sunday... and lots of motorbike riding on the weekend lol

Yeah, belly and face seem to be the last place a lot of guys lose weight. Alcohol seems to go straight there also.

word. i jsut want to get lean enough so that i can start a proper bulk while lean - instead of starting at 14-15%.

I've had chest and shoulder striations since end of feb, but still keep fat around the neck and gut.

I enjoy it, keeps a great isolation going on. You can also just place your back against a wall, essentially does the same thing, nice strict form.

Apparently I tore something in my forearm. Ha! No wonder I can't do bicep curls... even affecting back day too (aggravates the shit out of my bicep/forearm). Doctor says it isn't anything that rest shouldn't be able to take care of. Just go to physio to learn some stretching exercises.

The past 3 months have been pretty piss poor in terms of gym attendance.

Pretty happy with today's chest workout.

Hit 225 on flat for 13 clean reps with full ROM for 2 sets. Third set I could only get 10 reps out.

A couple months ago 13 reps at 225 was dream! Wurdup.

Okay boys. Hope you'll forgive my intrusion into your thread but I'm looking for some advice and think you might be able to help. I've recently added weights into my workout routine and am a total rookie. I've been super happy with the results but just this weekend I realized that my arms are becoming horribly uneven. Hilariously so. I use a combination of machines and free weights. What's the solution? Do an extra set or 2 with the weaker left arm? When I use the machines I really do try to use both arms evenly but I guess that's not working...

some hints that might help:

* when you're doing alternating curls, always start with your weaker arm first. do your set until you either hit your rep goal or when your weaker arm gives out. if you work until your weaker arm gives out, your weaker arm will be forced to catch up to your stronger one, but you really have to push it.

* be ultra critical of your elbow position when you're doing curls. too many times I see people in the gym essentially have their elbows at a fixed 90 degree angle and while the weight is moving, their shoulder is doing all the work. really concentrate on full range of motion.

how are your arms uneven? bicep too big + tricep too small? inferior arm smaller than the superior arm? too small altogether compared to body size? no fullness?
