Gamecube recommendations?

Knowing the games you like James, I highly suggest:

"Eternal Darkness : Sanity's Requiem"

It came out a while back so you should be able to find it used or even new for uber cheap.

I'd put it in my top 5 this generation easily.

The story is one of the best I've ever played.

P.S. The game takes a good 2-3 hours to really get into in terms of knowing how the story is unravelling and what's going on in the grand scheme of things.

Viewtiful Joe rules so much.

Rebel Strike I was disappointed with a bit.

Also, if you can get by the "cutesy" graphics, "Animal Crossing" is the most addictive game I've ever played. I played it for about an hour, every day, for about 2 months straight.

I am a big fan of the 'party' games for gamecube.

the Monkeyball series
Mario Party series (including the Wario party game)

are really easy to learn and fun to play with a bunch of people.

I guess everyone chose to ignore my "free gamecube games" post in this thread.
Oh well, if paying for games turns your crank, enjoy that.

Don't you need a DVD burner to do it?

Also, watched Mindhunters this past week. Not too bad, not too good either.

LOL
Mindhunters, good one.

Nope, you don't need a DVD burner. You launch the ISOs from your PC and stream them via the BBA right into the Gamecube.
Needless to say Phantasy Star Online has been recalled, but you can still pick it up used on fleabay.

I really hate that cel-shaded animation that's becoming popular. It's really weird and distracting... and it looks like crap to me.

I went to the Nintendo Annual Press conference this past Oct. What it is, is a remix of the original Metal Gear Solid. It's a finer tuned version of the original and they wouldn't tell me much more.

My wife's friend works at Silicon Knights (Dev making MGS). They're very tight lipped about what they do there.

It took many drinks at the wedding before he'd spill the beans to my questions ;)

Explain further please... I know some people with GC's that might be interested in this info.

I just got a GameCube for christmass-
so ive been reading up on twin snakes for the last hour because im actually gonna get a chance to own it now! (and MGS3 too! YEAH!)

It seems to be a 'reimagination' of the first MGS. The story is essentially the same- but everything else is different. New moves, weapons, story elements, maps, voice acting-
its not so much a remix (using the same elements)- it rethinks all the elements. Everything ive heard is really cryptic. I imagine its going to be pretty indepth and a good MGS2 follow up in terms of anticipation.
MGS2 = one of the greatest works of postmodernism ever.

I would just like to say that I JUST UNLOCKED THE SPECIAL CUP FOR SUPER MARIOKART DOUBLE DASH AND I'M VERY GODDAMNED PROUD OF MYSELF!

When I close my eyes I see Mariokart. This is becoming a problem.
