FUT: Friday UFO thread

A digg came up on my homepage about a Haitian UFO video. It's clearly not real, it's probably a teaser or an attempt to kick off a viral campaign.

Either way the video is cool as fuck, and now it has prompted me to spend the rest of my afternoon watching UFO sighting videos on Youtube.

Doubt it'll happen, but if it did, it would be too awesome for words!

Evidence of space aliens?
ET ballot issue backer says video provides proof

A video that purportedly shows a living, breathing space alien will be shown to the news media Friday in Denver.

Jeff Peckman, who is pushing a ballot initiative to create an extraterrestrial affairs commission in Denver to prepare the city for close encounters of the alien kind, said the video is authentic and convinced him that aliens exist.

"As impressive as it is, it's still one tiny portion in the context of a vast amount of peripheral evidence," he said Wednesday. "It's really the final visual confirmation of what you already know to be true having seen all the other evidence."

When Peckman went before city officials this month to discuss his proposed ET initiative, he promised to show the video.

Peckman said the public will have to wait to see it because it's being included in a documentary by Stan Romanek, a Colorado native who has reported UFO sightings.

"No one will be allowed to film the segment with the extraterrestrial because there is an agreement in place limiting that kind of exposure during negotiations for the documentary," he said.

But people won't have to wait too long to see it for themselves. "There is an open, public meeting in about a month in Colorado Springs," Peckman said. "We'll hope to do one in Denver at some point, and then in a few months, there will be the documentary that anybody can have, and it'll have the footage."

An instructor at the Colorado Film School in Denver scrutinized the video "very carefully" and determined it was authentic, Peckman said.

Peckman, 54, said the video was among the reasons he was "compelled" to launch the proposed ballot initiative, which has generated news coverage as far as South Africa.

"It shows an extraterrestrial's head popping up outside of a window at night, looking in the window, that's visible through an infrared camera," he said.

The alien is about 4 feet tall and can be seen blinking, Peckman said this month.

In a statement, Peckman said "other related credible evidence" proving aliens exist will be shown at Friday's news conference, too.

In 2003, Peckman authored an off-beat ballot initiative that would have required the city to implement stress-reduction techniques. The "Safety Through Peace" initiative failed, but garnered 32 percent

sadly, it was later proved that said alien was merely danny devito looking for a midnight snack.

I don't care what others think, but the Indy 4 movie was great because they tied the ancient astronauts theories Eric von Daniken used in his book "Chariots of the Gods" in Spielberg/Lucas movie.

Can't believe some critics and fans felt that the archaeological boundaries were crossed because of the theory of UFO's visiting the earth thousands of years ago.

We are not alone! :p

i am really hoping for aliens spawning the human race. it would make things a lot less humdrum. humans evolving into assholes on their own is no fun.

P.T. Barnum lives!

Instead of showing all the gull-i-bulls "a video", how 'bout showing the rest of us "an alien".

Even more authentic than the Alien Autopsy video narrated by William Riker?

Vietnam reports "UFO" explosion

HANOI (Reuters) - An unidentified flying object exploded in mid-air over a southern Vietnamese island, state media said Wednesday, a day after Cambodia's air force retracted a report of a mysterious plane crash.

The Vietnam News Agency said residents of Phu Quoc island, 10 km (6 miles) off the coast of the Cambodian province of Kampot, found shards of grey metal, including one 1.5 meters (1.5 yards) long.

"The explosion happened at about 8 km (5 miles) above the ground, and perhaps it was a plane, but authorities could not identify whether it was a civil or military aircraft," VNA said in a report headlined "UFO explodes over Phu Quoc Island."

Soldiers were sent out to look for wreckage and survivors, and local authorities contacted airlines in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, but received no reports of missing aircraft, the official state news agency added.

Villagers in Kampot said Tuesday that they had heard a loud explosion. Wednesday they told Reuters they had found small chunks of metal near the coastline.

Kung Mony, deputy commander of Cambodia's Air Force, said Tuesday he had been told of a foreign plane crashing in Kampot province, but later backed off his claims of an aircraft accident.

We're gonna get probed.

An Exclusive UFO Digest Report

On Current UN UFO Meetings:
How "Cover" Works

Posted: 21:21 June 1, 2008

On Monday, May 19th, 2008, Clay & Shawn Pickering of the New York City Disclosure Project and Robert D. Morningstar, Editor of UFO Digest, met for dinner with "Source A," the Department of Defense military diplomatic liaison officer who originally leaked the story of the UN UFO Disclosure Meeting that occurred on February 12th, 2008.

This dinner meeting provided a brief opportunity to ask some questions regarding the status of the UN UFO Disclosure initiative and to bring us up to date on current events and activities being conducted and developed with this goal in mind by the United Nations working group.

According to our source (referred to as "Source A" or "(S)" below), there have been several meetings recently at the United Nations surrounding the UFO/ET contact/disclosure issue besides the February 12, 2008 meeting. Our source informed us of this fact over dinner on the same day on which the most recent meeting had occurred.

Source A informed us that he has participated in subsequent UN UFO Disclosure planning sessions on four more occasions. We were informed that one of the longest of these meetings took place on Monday, May 19, 2008 from 7:00AM to 5:00PM.

This theme of this particular meeting was centered on the media's ridiculing of the UFO/ET phenomenon and the impediment that this presents as an obstacle to moving disclosure forward.

Our source gave us some of the details surrounding these meetings and answered some of our questions. Here are some of them. The answers come directly from Source A, referred to in text below as "(S)":

-What was the security like for these meetings?

(S) Response: Standard closed door Level One security.

-Was the agenda to broach Contact/Disclosure again?

(S) Response: Yes.

-How many people attended the meeting?

(M* noteà The previous number in attendance was reported to be approximately 30)

(S) Response: same group as before.

-Was any information passed on the meetings?

(S) Response: info to be taken up the diplomatic chain of command.

-Was everyone in civilian dress?

(S) Response: this time, YES.

-Were the diplomats all military or were they all civilian?

(S) Response: all military.

-Was the clergy present?

(S) Response: no.

-How long did the meeting last?

(S) Response: TOO LONG!

-Were there sticking points with the issue?

(S) Response: as always.

-Time of meetings?

(S) Response: Today - 7am until 5pm.
(This was the May 19th media meeting).

-What nation-states were there?

(S) Response: all the usual suspects.

-Was China there?

(S) Response: yes.

-Were the Russians there?

(S) Response: yes.

(Source A) à "Onward…"

In speaking with our source, I asked him to clarify his title and those of other foreign diplomats in respect to what we know as "working groups."
Our source stated his group and the groups of people abroad share a similar function in that they are not diplomats per se as we understand it.

(S) stated that he and the other foreign diplomats are "military diplomatic liaison officers assigned to the Diplomatic Corps" who are tasked under the auspices of such entities, which are analogous to what we know as the State Department.

These men and women are not ambassadors nor are they permanently assigned to titled diplomats such as Bolton, Brenner or Albright. Indeed, these officers are all military officers and are not staffers to the civilian diplomatic corps.

It is important to note with regard to our source that his people liaise between the Pentagon (DOD) and the United Nations by way of the State Department. No one from the military can be received at the United Nations without State Department approval.

The United Nations, to be understood, represents a neutral ground for like minds to talk without being noticed by the press. In turn, foreign liaison officers follow the same diplomatic protocols in order to gain entry into the UN. These meetings are not what most people think as General Assembly or Security Council forums.

How do these liaison officers decide to meet? By way of back-channeling. Source A explained that what most people don't understand is that phone calls are made to their respective counter-parts on a need for a meeting. This meeting would be conveyed as "informal items of interest." This communication would be passed on to other counter-parts and this is how the ball starts rolling. A good example of this is Robert Kennedy's informal back-channeling to a friend of the Soviet Ambassador for a meeting concerning the Cuban Missile Crises. I believe RFK met his "liaison" in a bar?

Keep in mind though that everything has to have a "Budget Line Item."

Nothing gets done without people getting paid to be where they want to be (UN) unless there is an explanation and a reason why. To the point:

(S): "Even people in the 'Black World' have to get paid."

Being paid to be somewhere has the benefit of legitimacy and also offers plausible disclaim if leaks occur. Source A mentions this over and over again, this variable about being paid. What he is saying is to "follow the money" if you want your "PROOF" of the UN UFO meetings.

Now, once the officer has a budget line item to be at the UN and to liaise with other foreign counter-parts for a specific meeting, this is where the back-channeling comes to the forefront; and, no one in the UN is the wiser. Once that door is closed then anything and everything can be talked about. With our source it has been five meetings on the UFO/ET topic.

What is the objective? These military liaisons under diplomatic cover enable an intervention in policy ideas and decisions. This form of communication, if sensitive, allows the State Department Corps to put out feelers on volatile subjects and plausibly deny if it becomes public. This also facilitates for all parties concerned a way to begin a foundation for future policies and a working model for that time when the discourse finally becomes public.

That model is the UFO/ET paradigm.

The object that crashed was first seen in the skies over Cambodia where officials said it appeared as a “fire in the sky.” The thing exploded shortly after that and what was left of it crashed on Phu Quoc Island. Citizens of a commune on the island retrieved a piece of metal from the crash that they described as measuring “one metre by about 60 centimeters.” The metal is unusual looking and appears to have symbols engraved or stamped into it.

Additional pieces of metal were recovered by members of the military and civilians. At this writing, there are fourteen pieces in possession of the Military Command of Phu Quoc District. The metal debris rained down in Ganh Dau and Cua Can communes on Phu Quoc at about 10:20 a.m. on May 27, 2008, according to Lam Quang Chanh, a spokesperson for the provincial People’s Committee.

k...I promise, for real this time, that I won't post anything else in this thread for a few weeks, but

the guy who claims to have a UFO video will be on Letterman tomorrow night

On May 30 Peckman held a press conference in Denver where he showed a video of an alleged alien filmed by Stan Romanek. This event received international media coverage.

"A spokesperson for Exopolitics Toronto is quoted as saying, "It is uncertain how Mr. Letterman will handle this issue on Late Night, the most popular late night show in America. However Exopolitics Toronto and its colleagues at PRG are enthusiastic about CBS television's decision to engage the ET issue on one of its most popular programs."

The spokesperson went on to say, "Now, in addition to Larry King's serious treatment of this global and highly politically sensitive issue on his CNN program over the last several months, the matter of an ET presence will make its debut on yet another major network before quite literally millions of viewers in North America and beyond by means of cable and world satellite TV. David Letterman possesses a serious intellectual acuity when confronted by serious social issues. The news-worthiness of this one single event could be staggering for the disclosure process"
