I'm new at using FTP and really don't know how to use it very well.

How do you search for FTP addresses?

How do you search at all when using FTP?

What are some good addresses for software,mp3's,video,etc.?

A little help in this would be appreciated?

I don't understand it very well and am too impatient to sit and figure it out by myself!

I have Ws_ftp pro and a few other FTP programs.

Which one is the best to use?

1. www.oth.net

2. elaborate on this question

3. unlike the watcher's tribe collaborative site, most good sites are not public (meaning that anyone can connect & download) - typically you have to send an email to the site owner asking for access, telling them what you have, and they grant it based on whether or not it will be an equitable trade

4. I think flashfxp is the hands down best program to do the job, but it's intended for advanced users and may be a bit overkill for most people. BulletFTP is what I reccomend to people otherwise

like deep said, most ftp's are VERY private. you aren't going to find them by any normal 'search' means.

i second the nomination for flashfxp.exe.
best fxp and best ftp program i have ever used.

you could also try port scanning ip's in the 24.*.*.* range on port 21. if you get results back, and you will, try connecting to them using anonymous login and see if you can get access..

Of course you'll probably alarm a few firewalls....and I NEVER use anon unless it's a short time...and even then there's only a few that I let know...
