Got there around 11:30 as the doors were meant to open @ 11, but didn't till around 12. Then ala Studio 54 style we all had to stand around in line waiting to get picked. Mboy and Jess got in first then I did where I managed to find the one bouncer I knew and get the rest of the crew in without much Delay. The place was already pumping this early though until about 2 AM the hip hop room was pretty much empty. In the Afterhours part where Seamen and Graham spun it got undanceably PACKED after about 2:30 , the rest of the night I could mostly be found in the Hip Hop Area. Props to the 514 Productions for lighting , decorations, good crowd control and vibe. We left around 9:30 AM , though Sona was still full of people and was hopping till about 1 pm the next day (from what I hear, I was long asleep and in bed by now though!)
Dj Jazzy Jeff owned. Magic on the turntables. I sat there with my mouth open and staring, possibly a bit of drool escaping.
The Binary Finary party got shutdown before it even began so Sona was *extra* packed, everytime I went upstairs it seemed to get more full, That's the only thing that really sucked, the inability to DANCE upstairs.
The vibe as usual was incredible, Though Dave pointed out something I hadn't noticed before - Montrealers dance in circles. Still, met lots of cool people, (deacon as well I believe?)
Thanks to my friends who made it out,
MalGlo - You food-slut (lentil lasagna!), thanks for being such a rocking guy.
Cri - The sweetest girl I've ever known, thanks for all the girlie-advice
(key thief!
)sometimes you just need estrogen
Cheerbear- Looked HOT in that angel outfit, too much mixups! Never Western Union again. Always great to see you
Cheerbear's crew- You all rock!
Sorry I was too out of it to say good by, and Sally is the absolute bomb.
Mboy- You always save the day. Always.
Too the Montreal Crew - Eva, Zach, Jen, Jamie, Jess...Once again I'm reminded how much my friends are my anger.
Amazing party, not so amazing next day, but Jazzy Jeff's set still owned unbelievably, What I caught of Seb Fontaine's was decent, Max Graham was mediocre. Big all-star lineup, good vibes, -good- friends, good times. This weekend definetly wouldn't be one to forget.
