Freaky Flow & Flipside (Silk) @ The Living Room

So After No Doubt, and Milano's, I was walking back to my car, look down the street see the living Room. "Shit I better go there." Plus the G/F was in there.
So Glad I stopped by. This was the best way to end the night. What can I say other then It was great! I was so tire by this point, so I was just chill'n, but the tracks were just energiz'n me like crazy. That scratching was wicked! I loved it! From both guys, Flippy on the mike and Freaky kill'n the tables, Yes! It was really sweet guys. Really really sweet! Loved the tracks.

Those who haven't seen Freaky Flow & Flipside, you HAVE GOT to make the effort, absolutely wicked team.

It wasn't as packed as when the Keep It Live CD was recorded back in January, but that was nice because there was lots of room to dance. And dance like mad I did! A friendly crowd showed up for ths one, with lots of beautiful people around. Freaky Flow's set was pretty good, and we got to hear lots of his new production and remix work.

Yeah, imo Freaky usually has pretty decent sets even though he gets a lot of bashing. But what the hell is with Flipside? He's a complete joke! When I saw him, instead of trying to hype the crowd with his mc skills (which are VERY minimal), he spent half the time spouting off about the new album. He seemed to have only a few rhymes which lasted for only a few bars at the most. Does Freaky keep him around just because they're friends and he would feel bad ditching him?

it was an album release party, what do you want Flipside to do, not talk at all? He's an mc, on an album that has just been released around the world, you wouldn't plug it if it was you that was on the cd?

When you've been around the world and back and helped Toronto's party scene, then post.

Vench: I wasn't at the party you were referring to. I was just at club gig and it seemed like every other sentence from Flipside was about his album. A few times is fine but it just gets tiring after awhile.

Also, just because something is popular doesn't mean that it's of high quality (insert Judge Jules here )nor does it mean that I have to enjoy it. And since this IS a message board, people are allowed to express their opinions.

ps. If it's an album release party, i think people know that they are releasing an album Vench.
pps. Respect for his contributions, but that doesn't mean he's a Good MC...

sorry i'm posting so late...

I went on thurs and it was mad fun, yes the crowd was small, but heck, who cares...
freaky flow is super talented in his selection and mixing abilities, as is Flippy with his rhymin' and (house-techno) mixing....

flipside is actually the only mc i can verbally understand. his rhymes are clean, fun, tight and poignant. i can say "Lyta" and "Rewind" all i want....will that get me far......don't think so.

shylock, maybe you just need to see 'em a few more times...
