I just can't bring myself to start out my New Year @ The Comfort Zone. Doesn't set a good tone for 2002........or does it?

Dope party. I like partying in there, big open space, high ceilings. Oldskool vibez.
The best is teh shattering from teh sound when you're lined up! :)

Really dug what they did with the space. Sound was tight, musik was tighter and teh vibes were poppin.

Hadn't seen Frankie in a long ass minute. Dudes a badman! :D

Large up Promise for throwing this quality event with the Pioneer of American RAVE!

Here's a vid walking in from teh entrance. Theres was a guy there doin the visuals via his IPAD then projecting it onto the wall... Pretty SIK!

big up to promise - this was a serious jam - it was a perfect way to end my stay in toronto - proper WAREHOUSE jam - Bones was tight, laying down proper techno with a slight bit of broken beats here and there -

this should really get its own thread...
ran into a number of wicked friends that I haven't seen in years ..

props to promise

Had a great time at this too... Frankie Bones was a pleasure to hear, and the Promise guys really outdid themselves with the venue. Hopefully there's another party at the same space come summertime.

Congratulations to Promise for 12 years of throwing great parties in amazing spaces. This space WAS amazing, and they made it a million times better: absolutely great atmosphere once you got past the unecessarily surly and petty security guys at the front door.

The security inside was just fine and chill, the rooms to wander absolutely great, the random (not too high) risers in the main room perfect, as was the fan that came on to bring needed relief at just the right time. The bathroom situation was alright, the bar well stocked and drink prices more than reasonable.

I had no idea what the set times would be, so got there when Frankie Bones came on, and unfortuntately missed my two favourite dj's, Ali Black and Nav.

Frankie's set was fun: many people told me he was playing all kinds of rave classics, but having never been to a rave, these were all new to me, some of them of the really teutonic banging variety that made you want to pump your fist and go "ja ja ja" before you burst out laughing!
So that was fun and the sound was good.

The following dj(s) didn't really do it for me or my travelling companion. I'm not sure what kind of additives you would need to find that music more than dullish banging boredom: we obviously had not consumed the right mix as our feet just ceased to want to move, so we called it a night and strolled home.

Thank you Promise!

Great event. Decor and staff were wonderful.

Only minor quibble would be my friend paying $35.00 at the door. Seemed a *tab* much especially as I only paid $20.00 a bit earlier in the night.

Look forward to attending more.

yeah later on I asked what the door price was and I was told 40$ bones - that's mad expensive - especially considering I only paid 20 - too bad, some friends wanted to come out later in the night but couldn't afford the door

solid jam guys

Coulda sworn I saw "20 before midnight a little more after"

I guess "a little more" is 100% more in Promise-speak?

Sounds as good as i hoped it would be. I had a vague plan to possibly turn up at the door, but as it turned out i was way too tired from Bubba on Friday and turned into a pumpkin by midnight. Glad some more people got to enjoy the venue, though. I think it's the same one Honey Dijon was at, and it's one of the best i've ever been to.

I should clarify, this by no means was an 'afterhours' event that was serving past last call.

These were 'on the house' rounds! :D

RAVE! :)
