Congratulations to Promise for 12 years of throwing great parties in amazing spaces. This space WAS amazing, and they made it a million times better: absolutely great atmosphere once you got past the unecessarily surly and petty security guys at the front door.
The security inside was just fine and chill, the rooms to wander absolutely great, the random (not too high) risers in the main room perfect, as was the fan that came on to bring needed relief at just the right time. The bathroom situation was alright, the bar well stocked and drink prices more than reasonable.
I had no idea what the set times would be, so got there when Frankie Bones came on, and unfortuntately missed my two favourite dj's, Ali Black and Nav.
Frankie's set was fun: many people told me he was playing all kinds of rave classics, but having never been to a rave, these were all new to me, some of them of the really teutonic banging variety that made you want to pump your fist and go "ja ja ja" before you burst out laughing!
So that was fun and the sound was good.
The following dj(s) didn't really do it for me or my travelling companion. I'm not sure what kind of additives you would need to find that music more than dullish banging boredom: we obviously had not consumed the right mix as our feet just ceased to want to move, so we called it a night and strolled home.
Thank you Promise!
