So what do you use? I'm a big fan of jstor http://www.jstor.org/ Google Scholar http://scholar.google.com/ And the scholar's portal available on the U of T website.

RefWorks is also also a godsend for writing papers.

I figured all students could throw in there favourite websites for finding articles on obscure topics, or help for writing papers, after all it's that time of year!

I've been lazy and using scholar.google lately, I have Trent and U of T passwords for the libraries so usually if one library doesn't have access to a paper the other one will.

I absolutely LOATHE jstor.org. I always found it to be a very tedious website, and if you were exact with your search queries it wouldn't kick anything out to you. Refworks was always my #1. I didn't really start using scholar.google until 4th year...and it was actually my prof that recommended it to me.

I've always found these sites cumbersome to navigate through. Is there an easier way to acces the material without going through the UofT library/resource system. Like is there a blanket account i can use to access affiliate sites directly without going through the UofT portal?

yup this is the one. sometimes, i use google to find abstracts (the proquest search engine kinda sucks) then search proquest with the author' name to get the full article.
