dude!
(5mbit barrier not shown)

this is what i got of the broadband site.
makes sense, we go through a privatised DSL server, 4 Mbit d/l 80 Kbit u/l. tis nice indeed.

also have a SMS Barricade Broadband Router that we serve our internal netwerk off of, so we dont have speed issues with that.

my roomate, im not sure which torrent client he uses, at his school works in the service bereau. he may have had multiple instances of torrent open, or something but his D/L's were at 600 Kbit down and 900 Kbit out, i will find out more, but he was going off of a university server, basically tapping a RESnet directly :D

im so jealous, he d/l'd 12 GB in 6 hours i beleive, i will find out.

he has a portable firewire drive with him, western digital special ed 200GB 8 meg cache.

leeching is the easiest thing in the world there.

so i am not sure with torrent whether the sppeds he is getting is limitied to one instance or more, but i will inquire.

are you sure dude? I think you just clicked on the link I posted to my speed test results , because the numbers are the exact same. 4mbit should be a bit faster than my residential connection (3mbit).

try www.golden.net/SpeedTest and run the java applet that pops up.

hehehe, i thought it was strange that i would be identical to your connection.

but when i tested.

Your download speed : 2060674 bps, or 2060 kbps.
A 251.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 559440 bps, or 559 kbps.

is what i got in report. but i have hit constant d/l speeds, coming in at 396 kbps, for entire d/l off decent connections, and have uploaded at easily 80 kbps per single u/l

but with DSL if more than one person is d/l or u/l off one pipeline, then speeds i tested for are what i am getting now, thats not being eaten up on our pipeline, regardless, im happy, much better then the 5 Mbit hardline coming into the building through rogers, shared by the building.

do you use FTP? i dont know which client i like the best, i have used SMART FTP and used Bulletproof FTP, i dont know which server host i like, and which client i like more.... bah.
