it was incredible. i haven't had that much fun in a long time. i'm not one for big reviews so i'll keep this short.
i've never seen fatboy slim before so i didn't really know what to expect. his set was a lot more housey than i was expecting. he *really* knows how to hype up a crowd ... perhaps better than anyone i have seen in quite some time.
the warehouse was set up differently. they put fatboy slim on a stage in the middle of the dance floor so that people could see him from all angles. the sound was a little off depending on where you were in the room. (i don't think the warehouse is used to that configuration so they probably haven't worked out all the bugs yet.)
the crowd was very cool. not a lot of tbk people but kife and ritika were there and i met jinx and starr for the first time. i spent most of my time hangin with my friend emma (hazard from the old t-dot jungle board) who i hadn't seen in AGES.
even though it was a short party (or concert or whatever you want to call it) i ended up dancing more last night than i have in months.
limelight afterwards was fun too (at least for the 20 minutes or so that i was there).

^^^ they've had that setup before with the DJ in the middle of the dance floor......as far as i can remember the platform was rotating.......the rave was the First Contact party a long time ago......i think Atomic Babies were part of the line-up...

It was shut down WAY too early, but it seemed FBS left a smile on everyone's face. It was kewl. He has so much fun spinin. He gets this really intense look on his face when he's twidlin the knobs, then blammo, the bass drops and he goes ape shit jumping all over the stage.
Good times. My legz hurt, but it's a good paing.
I didn't see anyone from tbk, but then again, I don't know what you look like.

What the fuck is that was good..i had a good time...didn't know what to expect from mr. norman cook...but what i did see ..i liked..well other than his technical skills on the decks...terrible i think..
Mint Royal i think stoled the show...sick breaks set...nice!!! and that pump dj's remix of their latest "Take it easy" ..pumpin
It was nice seeing familiar faces from tribe lastnight....

jake and security don't mix.
So my friends from Queens came down with a stash of something and we were smoking it to mint royale. Than right when I was passing it off this overbearing security guard came and stomped it out and yelled at a couple of us. Powertripping security and jake thee snake don't mix. The vibe was cool though. He knows how to get the croud going. I wouldn't say it was the best set i've heard by far but It was the most fun i've had in a long time. He's a real performer\showman. He knows how to work the room.

it's probably because i'm a crazy hard tech house fan, and has nothing to do with FBS.
overall, i had a good time, but i don't think i'd pay more than $20 to see him, so 2 out of 4 stars i guess.

Fatboy Slim was the shiznit ... this man has the biggest smile in the world and hypes a crowd like no one else... pure good vibes... I had an absolute blast, met some cool girls from York... I really wanted to meet some of the TBK
Mint Royale was awesome... I definately want to see these guys again...they hyped it up perfectly before the fat bastard came on and tore the place apart... I loved how fatboy was writing on the sleves of records and putting them on the big video screen...
I also like how you can drink anywhere in the warehouse now..not those shitty areas where you have to stay and drink like before... good work!

Alright did anybody notice the 40 year old man who was passing out joints to fellow partyers? He was right in front of the dj booth about 50 feet back. Just wondering as he was talking to me and one of my friends and jumping all around us and his sweat got on us and shit like that. I know I shouldn't have thought this probably that I was just kind of stunned by his actions for his age but he freaked me out to an extent. I was just wondering if anybody thought the same thing if they saw him

I think you have it wrong malicious. I was at that FIRST CONTACT party. UFO are a bunch of scammers. They only advertised the dj booth as revolving. I was at the party and I don't remember any revolving dj booth. The only thing revolving that night was the turnstyle and the reciepts at the cash register.
UFO packed Warehouse weeeeeelll beyond capacity and kept going. I should'nt diss them though because I know I would do the same thing! I mean what would you do if your were them and had a line up across the street all pouring in waving $35.00 at your face begging to come in...........?

UFO don't even bother getting back on that horse. I was smart enought to see through you Bullshit. You were only in it for the cash, "all the for the cash". After a while you can only keep the act up so long before people catch on.
Don't get me wrong doing it for the cash is all good but don't forget to maintaing that balance.
