this was my first time checking out Morillo and i was pleasantly surprised, i thought it would be all garage/disco house but Morillo was dropping some crazy circut tracks, even some prog. type tunes like Stylus trouble and X-Press 2! i was thouroughly impressed with him!
good party to say the least!

This Was my first Morillo ex too. Friend brad gave me a heads up, "It's going to be one of two types of sounds, the more chilled stuff like the cd's and Sbliminal stuff, or this new style w/ a phat'r beat...." Props on the money man!
I think the term "Drop kick me Jesus through the goal posts of life" applies here. Holy SHIT! That man displayed first degree what DJ'n is all about. I've been wanting to hear Morillo for some time, and have been told how good he is, last night was much better then I expected. The way he would teas with a song, bring it in a little then out and then in. Like Holly shit Spaced Invader, he was mixing that track in and out for like 10 min. then finally drops the track in. Or what about the way he mixed up that "welcome to the jungle" man oh man. Big ups big ups big ups!! I was just so take'n by that mixing, and how much was mixed together. Just phenomenal.
Oh yeh "party review" W! The rest meeaaah W! It was all about the music and spinning.
You know though, G money not going to forget you. Props to you to man, cuz that was a great set. Generally opening for a set like Morillo's, anything would be over shadowed, but you weren't. So your set must have been good, cuz I remembered it. Thanx for the trax form a little in the past, that makes things fun, and Dropping "Spen- craze at midnight" at like midnight. WURD! The G/F loves that song soooooo much, she heard it come in, and danced on the TV screens. Wicked!
Props To "Rob Selecta" You did a great Job, and see'n you .... "a little tipsy" was too funny. I said to you "It was good Rob, thanx"
And you "Yeh,.... you know.... it was good.. i did good.... and now I'm really drunk... and it's all good." Buaahahahahahaha.

what i liked is how he used the KOT - Finally accapella over like 4 different choones last night, sounded SUPER-SWEET over the EBTG - In My Room instrumental, i left after he played deaf and dumb crew, did he stay on much longer? if so what else did he play? i was hoping to hear Roger S - Another Chance...didnt hear it though...
i havent danced that hard in a looooooong time! i wonder how Tonic will do now that Most Wanted have left! oh well, i guess well just have to wait and see...

So...For Those Who Know is changing hands...huh?
I didn't know that this was going to be Most Wanted's last time promoting this Wednesday night. In fact, I heard about 5 different stories about what's gonna happen to Wed @ Tonic. Needless to say....I wanna say thanx to the Most Wanted Crew...(and those before them) for the DJs and good times I had at that place. I have seen some top notch DJ's there and on weeknights to boot!
Not a bad party....but at the same time not a great one I think. Perhaps I am still smarting from the Oakenfold fiasco. Or maybe it was because of the Raptors losing huge in Philly (u ok Vince?) When I walked in the joint I was pleasantly surprised to see people groovin'. G-Money was tight, although no new trax from his decks. Heard just about everything before....but he was still holdin' down the fort.
Now on to Mr. Morillo the armordillo....Ok...so a little commercial at first. Again some of the same trax as I have heard before with a significant twist. He was rockin' it. A little too tame at the start for a "Subliminal" party...but not bad. When he started to throw down the techy stuff was when I was finally sold. Just as it was gettin' good I had to jet (gotta work so I can party), so my review is a bit half assed. Anyone stay to the end?
So what is going to be the party spot on Wed nights? Who is gonna step up to the plate and fill the void? What other night on a Wed can gloat over their top international djs, wicked locals, and the cleanest Mens washroom. (Peace to that little Asian man who keeps thing in check over there!).
Maybe I'll just live for the weekend and keep the Wednesday night memories of the past to myself.

He was so in the mood to lay it down...the whole time i was there he kicked my ass...but that 20min, yes 20 min mix of Spaced Invader with tha otha traxx, stayed locked in mah head...on the drive home tho he sounded poo...i was like, is he still spinnin'?, and then i coulda sworn Flippy said he was done his set , at 3, special K, meh , i could be wrong...

you know, there wasn't a Wednesday night at Tonic before Most Wanted came in and brought FTWK (and for those who actually know you know the full story). so we all have to say a huge thanks to the MWE crew for bringing such amazing DJ's in the middle of the week, proving they are the shit.
personally... and THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ROB OR MWE... i think it's a little shady of the club to be keeping the name FTWK when it isn't anymore without MWE... i also think it's pretty crazy that the last week was supposed to be next week, yet at the last minute it's changed to that day and yet the club still has flyers out for their following week? seems a little premeditated for me... but then again what do i know... i'm an actor and a singer i don't get this business politic stuff...

contrary to expectation, was blwon away by the the first two hours of his set and danced my ass off (left early). the ONLY time I go to Tonic are Wednesdays for FTWK (when the quality of music overrides the overall creepiness of the club). Thanks Rob, Brian, etc. for breaking up my miserable work weeks and for the exposure to such fine music. kudos to you and yours....

^^^these represent both sniffles and tears. I was sick and couldn't make it last night. I've made almost every single FTWK night for the past year. My friend Miche and i use to live for wednesdays and the first dj we ever saw there was morillo. I'm very sad to see this night end but I want to say thanks to Most Wanted and especially to Rob for many fantastic memories.

It's not uncommon that a business keeps their name although management/owners leave. If the business was not doing so well and new owners take over, more then likely, they will give it a new name. However, if it's doing well, like FTWK was, they will keep the name, although, they should say "under new management". Maybe this can be a learning process for you guys, in that next time you start a night, in your contract, you state, that your name (For example, FTWK) is owned by you guys, and not the club....just a suggestion. I went to a few of the Tonic gigs and had a lot of fun there...just waiting to move your saturday nights to a different club
