Definately the surprise party of the year. I have one thing to say to all those who missed it: SUCKERS!!!!!!
At around 8pm last night I had no plans to go out at all. After some quick convincing from a friend I decided I would make the treck to the Guv by myself. Then Rich called me up and after some more quick convincing he decided to come as well.
So we get there around 12 and the place was pretty empty, but in an hour or tow there was a nice size crowd. Nearly everyone I talked to told em they had no idea they were going out tonite, and for some reason we all ended up in the same place.
I would have to say that in one night Eric Morrilo has just ranked himself as one of the top house DJ's I have ever heard. Every time he threw on a hit he some how managed to keep the bassline hard and heavy; I assume he was 'remixing' a couple tracks. His buildups were pure anticipation, and the Guv sound system only accented that to the highest degree. The corwd was jumping up and down, cheering and screaming for him to throw the bassline back in. BOOM! all the lights go one at once filling the room with a soft amber glow and the place is kickin again. fawkin awsome.
Czech did show up and must have played for about 40 minutes. Then it looked as though he was leaving (by that time I was in coat check) but he came back to play an encore. His style wasn't really my thing. The music was too pop, and considerably fast for breaks.
This party made my Christmas.
Peace & love. D
