Okay, so Czech didn't play...and I'm sure everyone would expect the little breaks boy to be all upset, but I think I was the one who minded least.

I feel so dirty saying it but I had fun at the Guvernment. Shh, though. That can be our little secret...I don't want word getting out. [IMG]

Well, I did have fun. Good Old House Music.

    -First to post! Yeehaw!-

czech played at the end of the night.

hard hitting breakbeats for all those who waited patiently.

yes eric morillo played an incredible set. i've been looking for that doom's night remix for the longest time, and all i keep getting is the familiar timo maas edit. glad to hear it pumpin on a phat system last night.

good times. i had a great evening at the guv.

I was annoyed at Czech not coming on until the end, I left at around 4:30-5:00 and I missed him, But Erik Morillo did not dissapoint. Hard hitting house.

Second time I've gone to a party at the Guv with very low / no expectations only to be pleasantly surprised. The same thing happened with "Summer's end".

I had a solid time, and was impressed with Morillo. Much deeper than his last time around I thought.

Definately the surprise party of the year. I have one thing to say to all those who missed it: SUCKERS!!!!!!

At around 8pm last night I had no plans to go out at all. After some quick convincing from a friend I decided I would make the treck to the Guv by myself. Then Rich called me up and after some more quick convincing he decided to come as well.

So we get there around 12 and the place was pretty empty, but in an hour or tow there was a nice size crowd. Nearly everyone I talked to told em they had no idea they were going out tonite, and for some reason we all ended up in the same place.

I would have to say that in one night Eric Morrilo has just ranked himself as one of the top house DJ's I have ever heard. Every time he threw on a hit he some how managed to keep the bassline hard and heavy; I assume he was 'remixing' a couple tracks. His buildups were pure anticipation, and the Guv sound system only accented that to the highest degree. The corwd was jumping up and down, cheering and screaming for him to throw the bassline back in. BOOM! all the lights go one at once filling the room with a soft amber glow and the place is kickin again. fawkin awsome.

Czech did show up and must have played for about 40 minutes. Then it looked as though he was leaving (by that time I was in coat check) but he came back to play an encore. His style wasn't really my thing. The music was too pop, and considerably fast for breaks.

This party made my Christmas. [IMG]

    Peace & love. D

    Tribers...I am royally pissed off...

OK not really, 'cause I love you all, but I totally missed any news of this...I kept looking around for something to hit on Chirstmas Day, and all the postings were about the 24th and 26th. Then I read about Eric f*n Morillo the next day?!?!?. I'm CRUSHED! I've been looking for a Summer's End repeat since forever!

I'm just more pissed 'cause for lack of choices I hit the BARN, and the DJ was honestly the lowest of the low, even for the BARN!

blah, just a pissy christmas, my bad. Some good house may have been the antidote.

Undoubtedly one of the better times spent at the Guvernment - merry christmas to all. [IMG]

Thanks to ChRoMe for twisting my rubber arm and convincing me to go considering I paid for it with blood sweat and tears the next day - boxing day shopping with my mother.

Eric Morillo threw down a surprisingly slamming set. His Everything But the Girl mixes were fucking incredible. Track ID please? Anyone?

Sure sure..no credit to me eh [IMG]

When I saw that Czech was on the bill I decided I had to goto this party..so I called up numerous people (Derek included) and tried to make people come.

Erik Morillo played a very nice long set..Im almost glad that the other rooms didn't open up so I had a chance to appreciate this guy fully.

But still when Czech came on at around 615 DAYM the whole place just started movin. Everybody had they're groove back, and everybody was excited.

He played some good solid ass-grabbin tracks that had me dancin even though I had no energy left at all.

    Overall good night.

    (See Corey you shoulda came...)

Steeveedee, thanks for bein my dance partner as always *mwah*. [IMG]

Good to see lots of TBK representing...(even though you are all drunken fools for leaving early [IMG])

EBTG Vs. Soul Vision (Lazy Dog mix). Mark Oliver has been playing it at The Guv't on Saturdays for the last two months at least.

On a slight aside, if you're ever in London, England, make sure you check out the Lazy Dog "night" at the Notting Hill Arts Centre.

One of the guys from EBTG does a biweekly Sunday gig there. I say "night", cause the place starts picking up around 6pm.

Under 150 people dancing to groovy, loungy house. Perfect way to end a weekend.

    And they serve absinthe... [IMG]
