Lots of good things to say tomorrow.
Completely different set and it was amazing!
I had the most pleasant time I have ever had there.

Saturdayv was the best, evil tech-house and Sunday was more on the housey side, throwing in a couple of tracks that were new school breaks.

I'd also like to mention that on top of Davenport's seriously great set, MYKA OWNED!!!

I've never heard him play that dirty before, and good God did I like it. He even dropped Les Rythmes Digitals "Disco to Disco" and fawking rocked it.
Plus he droped my new favorite track that thanks to Finch I now know the name of. I'm back on a mission...

Great night. I'm paying the price today, but it was so worth it.

^^ serious. the last time i was there the girls bathroom was totally flooded. there was a brownish puddle maybe a cm thick with nasties floating all over the place. i had to leave early because i couldn't hold it anymore. after that i vowed never again.

So what your trying to say is that you only go to a place for the music and thats it? Give me a break. Although the music may be a BIG reason...you can't deny that you also go because of the people, atmosphere and as many people mention "the VIBE". I PERSONALLY do not think ComfortZone positivley contributes to any of this. I PERSONALLY find the majority (not all) of the people to be extremely skecthed out and not fun to be around.
The last 2 times I was there I witnessed 3 people ODing ( 1 of those people foaming at the mouth) and 2 others whacked outta there skull puking in the corner. So I ask you:
* Who in there right mind would want to be around people like that?
* How can I not be judgemental of the place after that?

What Jo is saying is exactly correct when it comes down to seeing a favourite dj listening to the music.
No one bothered us all night. We danced in front the whole time and turned on the blinders and just danced and danced until we couldn't move anymore.
I couldn't have cared less who was slobbering in the corner. I didn't pay them any mind.
I couldn't care less about some elusive vibe.
That whole concept is a crock of shit to me.
I had more fun at Turbo on Saturday when there were only 20 people there.
We create our own vibe, and don't rely on other people to have fun.
We had our own fun time at CoZo and people noticed and kept commenting on our good attitude.
No one asked me for drugs like they do everywhere else I go.
No one tried to pick me up. I was happily left alone.

MYKA totally played a killer set to get us going and that is all it took to forget about anything else.
THANKS MYKA----you were great!

from what Jo's been tellin' me it seems Eric was fantabulous...last time i saw him , he was very delish...that L.A flavour...yum

I personally have not been to CoZo...everyone i've ever met who has been there has told me not to go...but from Jo's point of view, even if a place is all garbage you gotta go for what you came for..ie the musik...

as for others, it's plain to see why the party scene has dwindled...

why big parties don't happen, why there is no love...

muzik is what makes you feel good...that's why you go out, or why you should go out...get together, meet friends, get on down listen to great choons...isn't that a part of what Tribe is about?...all these peeps hang out here, in the clubs, after work...whatever...

you can't just go to a club and be a mindless drone dancing away to some electronic musik staring at a dj...

geez...

to some people muzik is life...all forms of muzik...it takes us to another world naturally

Eric's known for his tight mixing.

He's a really wikked guy if you get a chance to talk to him. Which is pretty easy if you just go up and say hi!

I've seen him most recently the last couple of times he's spun the Comfort zone. I find him hit or miss. Two of the times I found him a bit too mellow for my tastes. But the one time right after the Superbowl I think(sometime around there), he fukkin kicked my ass with the baddest tech-housey-tribally-breaks shit. So now whenever I see him Im pretty patient cause I figure I'll get to see him rip it up again.
But methinks me missed it!

... I was around somewhere too. And to Exquisite, when Jo and Svet mean they go for the love of the music, they mean it. That's why I go with them. They share the same love for the music that I do, and don't feel the need to get fucked up to appreciate it. That's what the scene is about, contrary to the beliefs that rampant drug use is what it has become associated with.

WOW...some people. All I was stating as my OPINION was that I can't believe that people go to that dirty, disgusting, sketched out place. Even if my all time fav DJ was going to be there I still wouldn't go to it because of the disgusting bathrooms, the horrible security and the majority of people all fucked up. I would rather wait till he/she was playing in a place that I felt more comfortable in. YOu can only block out the atmosphere so much. And when it comes time to go the bathroom and you can't even stand the stench never mind the piles of shit laying around...I say thats where you draw the line.

Well, I feel awful you had such a horrible experience because it definitely wasn't bad on Sunday.

I was there on Sunday... I admit the place is a den of iniquity, but don't we all need to be iniquitous sometime? The Truth is I had been at System the night before and hadn't gotten what I wanted musically. I went to Comfort Sketch and it was hard and it was right and I shook my booty all the night... alright, all the day. The bathrooms are bad, but I certainly didn't see any piles of shit--maybe those are only in the boys. And I spend minimal time int he bathroom, so why care? Lots of sketchy people, but you don't have to talk to them if you don't want to. I talked to some very nice strangers. Maybe some of them were even from this board! Anyway, the whole point is, any scene has a dirty side, and descending into the dark underbelly of the Sketch every once in a while fulfils a need for excess. And that, in my opinion, is a good thing.

I guess that I could also add that the night-time crew is a bit different than the morning crew.
After 8pm, the new batch of people rolls in or people return after having slept and cleaned up.
You can come at go as you please.
When we showed up, we were ready to dance it up since his set got cut short the night before.
We danced with the biggest grins on our faces the whole time and had FUN!
I got to chat with some people I used to see there all the time and it was great.
Most fabulous evening.
And a special thanks to Jo for keeping the grin on my face even today.

I really hate to push a topic that's mostly done, but I kinda can't help myself here.

Here we are, at the end of the day, and you're crying about how people won't let you have your opinion.

Yet, closer to the start of the day - it seems you were pretty guilty of what you're now whining about. To me, it seemed like a bunch of people were having a conversation about a DJ they saw somewhere and then someone (who wasn't there) decided that the focus of this thread should change to how much they dislike the venue. Not only that, this same person decided that it's not okay for people to go there if they want to - and that if you do go there you're a moron.

Some people have their reasons for going to the less classy places in Toronto, and some people have their reasons for not going there. It's a pretty simple concept to understand if we can all step out from behind our pissy and over aggitated masks for a moment.

Why couldn't you have simply said, "I don't like that venue, and I would never go - but if you like going there (for whatever reason) that's your biz."

Live and let live. I'm happy to let people have their opinions, and I want to keep my own, thanks. So quit crying about how no one's giving you any respect when you're not really giving anyone else any either.

Finch.
